Chloe Patent Leather Wedges
Available at: Net-a-Porter
I have a small fixation with very tall wedge shoes. Nevermind that I am already 5'8". That's a whole other issue. I have yet to meet a 4" wedge I don't like. The trick is that a 4" wedge feels more like a 2" heel because a big chunk of the height is balanced under the toes. All the height, none of the pain.
My absolute favorite new wedge shape is the super tall wooden wedge with ankle ties made popular by Chloe. When the look first premiered you had to spring for the investment-priced Chloe version because that's all that was available. Now that it's been a couple of seasons, the more budget conscious labels are catching up nicely.
Of course, Chloe is still the gold standard and this season's new incarnation of the wooden wedge is stunning. The combination of shiny black leather and a wooden wedge on Chloe's Patent Leather Wedges is unexpected and fresh. These shoes are delicious!
Charles Albert "Madison" Wedge
Available at: Lulu's Fashion Lounge
On the opposite end of the splurge spectrum are these super cute "Madison" wedges by Charles Albert. They have the same silhouette as the Chloe version, but take the look in a different direction. The shiny patent leather is replaced with matte black and the ankle gets a little adornment of its own with a wide tie. These are a perfect way to try on the super trendy look without having to take on a second job to pay for it!
Jessica Simpson "Cami" Wedge
Available at: Shoes.com
Another affordable wooden wedge comes from the super hot Jessica Simpson label. These "Cami" wedges are brand new for fall and this time the shoe is done up in a super soft suede. They have the same fun ankle tie as the Charles Albert version, but in a smaller size. This slight change in the tie, along with the suede, makes the overall look a little dressier.
