Fashion Week 2007: Is Plaid Back for Fall?

The rise of plaid last fall still has many of us baffled. Do we give in and wear plaid? If so, how on earth do we fit this zany fabric into our wardrobe? It's enough to leave even the most intrepid fashionista perplexed. It was looking like we were out of the woods with the Spring collections, but with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in full swing it appears the plaid problem will be back for Fall 2007.

It's only day four and already several designers have found a way to work plaid into their collections. Luckily, plaid feels a lot more wearable this time around. The plaid shown on the Fall runways was sleek, steering clear of the obvious red Scottish tartans of last fall, and confined mainly to outerwear. If you avoided the plaid craze last fall, this fall may just be the time to buy. Plaid has never looked more mainstream and chic. Check out these plaid looks from the Fall 2007 runway:
