Pearl Picks: The Ultimate Summer '07 Workout Mix

Hello SJ Readers! You may know me from the Girl Talk panel and from my product recommendations. In addition, I will be doing a segment on music, focusing on playlists around a certain theme, or just bringing you in on a really cool new artist. To me, music is all about recommendations and word of mouth. So, if I come up with a new playlist and you think I am missing something, feel free to add a comment and tell us what you personally love to listen to. I will try to appeal to a variety of different genres, so everyone will find something they like.

My first theme will center around workout music. It's that time of the year, and I know you are trying to get some inspiration to get your winter butt to the gym and shed off some pounds. My absolute favorite CD to listen to (from beginning to end) when I work out is Jennifer Lopez's "J to tha L-O! The Remixes" (left). Honestly, I have listened to this CD for years when I work out, it's my old standby. And it's awesome. The songs have killer beats and all I have to do is envision J.Lo's insane body and it gives me inspiration. The last song, "Alive" is slow and is perfect for a cool down.

If you aren't feeling the J.Lo, and need some variety, I've put together a playlist of other music that would be fun for a work out. This playlist is more geared to pop music afficionados. You are welcome to pick and choose, put together your own playlist, or just grab everything off of my recommendations. If I'm missing a killer song, please add a comment and let me know.
