Party, party, party! Tis the season from now to NYE to buy dresses and wear all the ones you have. In fact, 2009 for me is the year of stepping it up, so I’ll be buying all new party dresses! Yoox.com is going with the something old, something new theme with vintage fashions in a variety of styles.
Zandra Rhodes vintage dress
Available at: yoox.com
Imagine, shopping the world trying to find the most insane frocks to sell just to you. 40 dresses that were unveiled on the 19th this month from designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Chloe, Valentino, Fendi and even Zandra Rhodes. Floor length gowns, sparkling sequins, chiffon, satin and more! Ooh!! Prices are another story... less than $1000! What? Apparently the vintage appeal isn’t hailing all too much money, which bodes well for us in these times especially.
The Zandra Rhodes Couture collection was actually acquired from Christie’s and includes a tunic dress in sapphire blue silk with glass beads from the 1980s-- see more of the Zandra Rhodes for reference. Dresses range from the 1950s to the 1980s and represent the moods throughout the eras. All I know is that I will be considering something old to be something new for 2009, especially with chic party dresses from times past... beats any cheap production from a machine any day!
