Summer Fashion: Swimsuit Cover Up Versatility

Ah… after a beautiful day in sunny San Diego, and an even better day for me because I got to sunbathe, I was inspired to write about sexy, versatile swimsuit cover ups. I try not to lie out in the sun, but sometimes going to the pool on wonderful blue sky day is too tempting to win the fight. I always cover up my face, and make sure to protect my skin by reapplying sunscreen. Today I noticed some sexy ladies walking in with their adorable swimsuit cover ups, and it made me think of the other functions the cover ups can serve.

I found three cover ups all from one of my coolest discoveries from writing for Stiletto Jungle: Venus.com. They have an awesome selection of swimsuits, cover ups and all kinds of poolside accessories. But today I would like to emphasize the cover ups. I mean, how many times do you go to a pool party or Sunday barbecue that lasts all day, and you don't want to lay out the whole time, but you want to have something lightweight over your swim suit Something sexy, in case you meet a hunk, and something that you can work with in case you go grab food down the street because you are a vegetarian?! Ladies, I've got you covered. Trust in me.

I like to ease into things, so my first pick is simple; it is a white Off the Shoulder Dress used as a cover up. It's very flirty and girly. I love the drop waist with the front tie for the perfect comfortable fit. It's too cute! I like it because you can wear it over your bottoms, take your top off, relax and you won’t have to worry about a hideous tan line. Whether you hate the sun or not, you can wear this in the shade and act like you’re loving every minute by socializing and looking fabulous! Be pure and simple in this white cutesy small thing that will have everyone asking, "where did you get that? So cute!" Then I can say, "told you so!"

Now I will be moving on to something a bit more sassy. This Luxurious Silk and Sequin Tunic is fun and versatile-- perfect for poolside at the resort, or a barbecue at a friend’s. I love this sheer sexy thing! The fun thing is you can wear it over a think tank top or a sexy bra and pair it with some tight jeans, and voila you've got your night time outfit covered. It comes in a few different color options, but the black and silver is the best.

My last easy discovery was a quick and easy one. It’s a Cotton Gauze Halter Dress, and for $39 it’s a wow deal! Not only is it a great refreshing cover up, but you can wear it as a dress anytime you want. Go right from a pool party to a friend’s birthday party-- slip on some heels, and grab a nice summery shawl and your good to go! This dress does come in two other flattering colors: chocolate and natural (beige). The chocolate would look wonderful with some chunky turquoise or coral jewelry for a night out.

Get creative, have more faith in your cover ups. A t-shirt and some old shorts aren't going to cut it anymore.
