When it comes to staying warm, fur is the way to go. In addition staying warm, fur instantly glamorizes a look. You could be wearing a wife beater underneath a fur jacket and look like a million bucks when stepping out the door. There is a scene in the Sex and the City movie when Carrie gets out of bed on New Year’s and throws on fur jacket to go see Miranda and she looks fabulous! The point is when you’ve got the fuzzy on, your looking like Elizabeth Taylor, minus the big diamonds. I found a picture of my mom in her fur coat and it inspired me to write about fur jackets. The only difference is that I chose jackets with fur trim. Also, I wanted to find some jackets with faux fur, which is to prevent any near death experiences from PETA anytime soon.

The first jacket I chose is adorable. It’s the Anna Von Diederitz coat in snow by BB Dakota, with three oversized buttons for closure. The slash pockets give you a little room for small wallet and a lipgloss, or can heat up your hands if needed. The coat has a detachable black faux-fur collar. So you can wear this coat all the way to next spring, if required, without the fur collar. The color is such a wonderful contrast with the black faux fur. This is an elegant jacket to pair with jeans or black slacks. I love the fact that it’s a shorter jacket, making it more diverse. For $89.99 you’re getting a jacket that classes up your look and allows you to wear a sweater underneath to actually keep you warm besides just looking hot!

Juicy Couture Faux Fur Bomber Jacket

Juicy Couture has a fun, hip Faux Fur Bomber Jacket! I think this jacket is so wearable, I have a similar one I bought 3 years ago, and I love it-- I wear it with everything. It’s a bit more fitted, so you can’t wear a big sweater underneath it like the Anna Von Diederitz coat, but that’s what makes them different! This is more casual and perfect for weekends out, shopping and a friend’s house. Call me crazy but, I would even wear this jacket with some yoga pants and UGG boots.

Lastly, I feature a very casual shawl-like cover. This piece from South Korean label With Mocha is actually a fur trimmed knit top-- the trim is little balls of fur along the front. This is also casual and less bulky, to be used similarly to a cardigan to add some spunk and give an outfit a nice sophisticated finish.

Next up, some longer coats with fur accents-- those don’t require anything underneath because no one will know!
