Fashion Cents: The Winter Fur Trend

The fall / winter season is coming to a close as evidenced by the approaching Fashion Week Fall / Winter 2010. There were so many cool trends this season; from bib necklaces to sheath dresses to over the knee boots. While I can understand if you passed on a few of these trends, like the over the knee boots – you just couldn’t look like Apollonia in Purple Rain – I hope you didn’t pass on the fur trend for three reasons:

• First, fur is always in style. Not everyone can afford it but those that can would never say “it’s out of style.” This season brought us cool faux fur that is sure to remain a staple in our closets. Unless, of course, you bought it too cheap and it is already falling apart.

• Second, fur is warm. With this wickedly cold weather that we have experienced across the country this year, everyone should want an extra layer of warmth.

• Third, fur is very versatile. It is as versatile as that little black dress. In fact, wear it with the little black dress to add more luxe to your outfit.

Now if you didn’t indulge in the trend yet, it is not too late. Whew! Hit the end of season sales and find a real or faux fur to be your companion for years to come. Make sense?

P.S. Need more convincing? Watch the video for other great ways to wear fur.
