Review: De-Luxe Rosemary Mint Shampoo

De-Luxe Rosemary Mint Shampoo

$9.99
Available at: drugstore.com

The De-Luxe Rosemary Mint Shampoo was a pleasant shampoo with a seemingly healthy feel to it. It produced lathering suds that sufficiently cleaned the hair product off my hair, but did seem lighter than my regular highly-sudsing shampoo. This is saying much considering my daily use of hairspray (with frequent combination of hair mousse). However, I would say that I prefer a much sudsier shampoo in the evening because of the daily product use on my hair.

I enjoyed using this product when I had already shampooed my hair the evening before; the fresh mint scent was perfect for waking up in the morning shower and left a refreshing scent in my hair throughout the day. I enjoyed this product.

Splurge: Alexander Wang Sweatshirt Top

Thursday, February 25, 2010 • Permalink •

Alexander Wang Sweatshirt Top with Crossover Back
Alexander Wang Sweatshirt Top

$350.00
Free Shipping
Available at: shopbop.com

I know what you're thinking. $350 for a sweatshirt? Yes, it's a steep price for a fleece sweatshirt, even one boasting the Alexander Wang label. But, this picture really doesn't do this particular sweatshirt justice. Click through and take a look at this straight-off-the-runway fleecy wonder from multiple angles.

The back is a crossover design that creates a triangle peekaboo cut out that is just high enough to accommodate a bra. The unique, almost sculptural back also makes for an interesting side view. The way the back part of the sleeve must sweep backwards to create the crossover creates a kimono-like silhouette from the side. And, all of this fashion-forward design is masked by a simple crew neck front. Trust me, when you take a good long look at this well-crafted top, you'll understand why I say that the $350 Alexander Wang Sweatshirt Top is totally worth the splurge.

Review: DermaPro Dream Wear Night Treatment

Thursday, February 25, 2010 • Permalink •

DermaPro Dream Wear Intensive Night Treatment
DermaPro Dream Wear

$62.80
Available at: dermapro.com

I have been using the DermaPro Dream Wear Intensive Night Treatment almost every night for the past week or so and I really like the results. The cream is advertised as packed with Vitamin C, antioxidants and oils to help protect the skin from environmental pollution and UV radiation. I dug the fact that it had Vitamin C as many dermatologists I have seen over the years tell me to use a night cream with Vitamin C. It smells SO good, like walking into a spa, and is pretty thick in consistency and yellow-ish in appearance. The best part about this cream is that in the morning when I am washing it off I can feel how velvet-y the cream is on my skin!

I have tried countless other night creams and usually my skin just sucks up the cream. By the morning, it barely feels like I was wearing anything. I love how hydrating this DermaPro cream is on my skin. At $62.80 per container, it is very pricey, but I do notice that it works well and is very moisturizing. I'd probably use it sparingly, though, if I spent so much on a night cream (and the directions do say to use small amounts). Great product, just maybe a bit on the expensive side for me.

New & Hot: Foley + Corinna Disco City Tote in Stingray

Foley + Corinna Disco City Tote in Stingray
Foley + Corinna Disco City Tote

$196.00
Available at: pinkmascara.com

It's no secret that I love Foley + Corinna handbags. I've written about just about all of the popular styles, and have purchased some of my own. But, I haven't really felt inspired to write about Foley + Corinna lately. It's not that I no longer love the label, because I certainly do. It's just that Foley + Corinna tends to recycle their best-loved designs season after season, simply adding new leather or fabric colors. Still fabulous, just not really worth writing about. But, this new Foley + Corinna find is worth a second look.

The brand new Foley + Corinna Disco City Tote in Stingray melds a new color with a new texture to create a fresh spin on my all-time favorite F + C silhouette. The stingray-embossed leather is a stunning, sumptuous texture and the golden beige color just adds to the richness of the look. I'm totally in love.

Fair warning, ladies, the term "tote" is kind of misleading: this "tote" is really a clutch. Keep in mind that this is the smaller sized version of this Foley + Corinna design-- the measurements are 8.5" wide by 9.25" high, with a 22" drop. But, with a texture and color this gorgeous, I'll get over the fact that I can't carry my usual pile of daily "necessities."

New & Hot: Lauren Moshi Loubi Tee

Lauren Moshi Loubi Swing Tee
Lauren Moshi Loubi Tee

$88.00
Available at: thehipchick.com

Lauren Moshi tees are popping up all over the place lately. The strange, dark prints often featuring wild animals are certainly interesting. But, this newest tee featuring an inanimate object is the first that has made me seriously consider a purchase.

The brand new Lauren Moshi Loubi Tee features a red-heeled Louboutin in the stylized, sketch drawing style that is signature Lauren Moshi. It would be easy for a tee shirt featuring a Christian Louboutin shoe to feel too commercial or even cheesy, but the bold style of Lauren Moshi coupled with the super oversized graphic make this tee feel artsy. I'd pair this will a boyfriend blazer and skinny jeans for a dressed-down look. Just don't add your own Louboutins to the mix-- that would be a little too matchy-matchy.

Spring Fashion: Chic Wedges

Tory Burch 'Thora' Cork Wedge
Tory Burch "Thora" Wedge

$165.00
Available at: nordstrom.com

Another year has passed by and it's wedge time again! Unleash from the boots and slip on something airy, comfortable and fashionable. Wedges let you flaunt the pedicure and help give you height without having to worry about callused feet. With all kinds of creative styles floating around I was able to narrow it down to simple, yet fun picks.

Tory Burch makes some sassy, colorful thong cork wedges called ‘Thora.’ They are very simple and perfect for a sexy, leg-elongating look with the most comfort you can get in a heeled shoe. Cork is typically beyond comfortable because it gives so much and it doesn’t put all the pressure on the ball of the foot. I love the fact that you can look and feel great while strolling along in these bad boys. The cork wedge has a thin, shiny purple strap (comes in different colors) with the signature Tory Burch gold-tone medallion in the center. This is a great choice for poolside-- I can’t wait!

EIREST BLACK LEATHER
Steve Madden Eirest Wedges

$149.95
Available at: stevemadden.com

My next choice is a big leap from the Tory Burch shoes. They are definitely spicy and require a certain mood. The “Orlando” wedge from Chinese Laundry’s upcoming collection is one of my faves. The coral, full of life wedge is a skyscraping shoe that will allow you to reach the tallest cupboard in your kitchen while giving your calves a workout. They're edgy enough for trendy gals, yet girly enough for gals who just want to look tall and adorable while wearing a sun dress. The fun dual-stacked heel gives the shoes extra height. I like the creative design of this pair and adore the unique leather wing at the base of the cork wedge. The top part of the open toe area is embellished with two large fringe flowers that give it a flirty look. I love how free-spirited this pair is while keeping comfort in mind with the extra padded foot bed.

Lastly, I found a pair of strappy wedges from Steve Madden. I dig the delicate straps but, I don’t think everyone’s foot will look nice in these Eirest wedges. If you have small feet they may overwhelm your foot and look too bulky. But, for everyone else this is a great casual pair to throw on. The sole is similar to snake skin and gives it a sassy finish. Strut around in style with wedges because you don’t have an excuse to stop walking.

House of Harlow 1960 Misha Moccasin Boot
House of Harlow Misha Moccasin

$275.00
Available at: boutiquetoyou.com

Straight off the pages of InStyle magazine... these soon-to-be released Misha Moccasin Booties from Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960 line are sure to be a sell-out.

The Misha Moccasin Bootie features hand-beaded detailing, a tie front, and back fringe. It is currently available for pre-order in "Butter"-- the pale tan color shown here. The look of this boot seems to fit in just right with the luxe-bohemian vibe that Nicole Richie has so carefully cultivated over the past few years. It's sure to be a hit with the large fashionista following that has tried to emulate Nicole's style, so I'm calling the Misha as the runaway hit from the first season of House of Harlow's new shoe line.

The Misha Moccasin Bootie is currently available on preorder at online celeb-shopping emporium Boutique to You. Click through the photo above to link directly to where you can get more details and preorder.

7 For All Mankind Kimmie Jeans
7 For All Mankind "Kimmie"

$198.00
Available at: 7forallmankind.com

My first thought: it's about time. 7 For All Mankind has reigned as the most-loved, most-enduring premium denim label for years now. They've created tons of different fits and washes. They've even branched out into other clothing and accessories. But, they never managed to squeeze out a dedicated "curvy fit" jean... until now.

The new 7 For All Mankind "Kimmie" jean is being billed as a "curvy fit" jean-- a cut made just for curvier ladies. According to 7 For All Mankind, the new Kimmie fit features contoured waistband and a slightly higher rise to hug your waist all around. The Kimmie also comes with some of the standard 7 For All Mankind details, like a classic bootcut shape and signature squiggle pocket design. The new Kimmie is currently available in the very versatile Vintage Honolulu wash with a high heel-friendly 35" inseam. Finally, a pair of curvy fit Sevens!

Stiletto Jungle in Fast Company Magazine

Sunday, February 21, 2010 • Permalink •

I'm super excited to share with all of you that Stiletto Jungle is featured in the March 2010 issue of Fast Company magazine. Fast Company is an award-winning monthly magazine, web site, and digital distribution platform that covers the business of innovation.

Stiletto Jungle was chosen to represent Glam Media. Glam Media is an amazing vertical media company that helps Stiletto Jungle-- as well as about 1,500 other blogs and independent publishers-- get the word out about our site, reach new audiences, and sell advertising to high end companies that you actually want to hear about. Fast Company named Glam Media one of The World's 50 Most Innovative Companies. In fact, Glam Media came in at #1 in the Media category-- ahead of power houses like Politico, Huffington Post and NPR-- and #37 overall! I couldn't be more proud of Glam Media or more excited to help represent Glam in Fast Company. Check it out:

Glam Media - Fast Company Magazine

That's me in the middle. I'm surrounded by fellow fabulous Glam publishers Jennifer of Hostess with the Mostess, Natalie of Coquette, Kristopher of KristopherDukes.com and Patrice of Afrobella. We had a really fun time at the photo shoot and, despite the fact that I'm wedged between the world's cutest baby and a hot 25-year-old, I'm really pleased with how the pictures came out. Yay!

The March 2010 issue of Fast Company is on newsstands now, or you can see the full listing of Most Innovative Companies online.

Review: DermaPro Pineapple Cleansing Scrub

Friday, February 19, 2010 • Permalink •

Derma Pro Pineapple Cleansing Scrub
DermaPro Pineapple Scrub

$26.20
Available at: dermapro.com

I have to admit, I did not use the DermaPro Pineapple Cleansing Scrub with a completely open mind. I have sensitive skin and am always nervous about trying new products because I am always at risk of throwing off my skin's balance. I tried it anyway and was okay with it. I didn't notice any changes in my skin, but really, that's all I ask for when using a scrub.

This scrub was more of a pampering experience than a cleansing experience, but that's good enough for me. I loved the pineapple smell but wasn't too sure I liked the thick, beady texture on my face. It felt a little too rough, but again, I do have sensitive skin. I would recommend this product to those with normal skin.

CitySlips Foldable Ballet Slippers
CitySlips

$24.95
Available at: cityslips.com

I'm a sucker for 5-inch heels. There's something about the height-- I hit 6'1" in my tallest pumps-- and the high-fashion look that keeps me coming back, despite the fact that super high heels are hardly high-efficiency footwear. Impractical shoes are my (very expensive) drug of choice.

Wearing very high heels means planning ahead. A pair of flip-flops have a permanent home in my car because driving well with a 5-inch spike protruding from your heel is nearly impossible. If I'm going to be walking more than 7 or 8 city blocks, I've got to carry the really big handbag so I can stash flats in the bottom. And, let me tell you, I love the feeling of throwing expensive heels into the bottom of an even more expensive purse. Ouch.

But, I just discovered a product that will save my feet, my purse and my precious heels! CitySlips are patent-pending, foldable ballet flats that come in a compact carrying case that fits neatly into a normal-sized day handbag. And, get this, the carrying case unfurls into a tote bag to carry your heels home in. Brilliant. Really.

CitySlips-- and their party-purse appropriate sister shoes Aftersoles-- are the creation of Susie Levitt and Katie Shea. As 22-year-old NYU students, Susie and Katie found that classes, internships, and NYC nightlife led to painful arches. When they couldn't find an "emergency footwear" product that was just right, they decided to manufacture their own. Gotta love a resourceful fashionista.

CitySlips are a definite must-have for any super high heel lover. Pick yours up in Black, Silver or Gold at CitySlips.com. Click on either photo for more information and to purchase online.

Review: Sabon Aviv Perfume

Sabon Aviv Perfume - Jasmine
Sabon Aviv Perfume

$32.00
Available at: sabonnyc.com

Sabon Aviv Eau de Toilette was delightful. I was able to test out the jasmine scent and it was very pleasant. I really like the softness of the scent and its ability to mix well with other scents that I wear. The jasmine goes well with vanilla based scents because both are light enough and mix nicely without overwhelming your nostrils. The jasmine and other notes of ylang ylang fused with orange blossom, plumeria, and lily are beautifully blended together creating a very romantic everyday scent that lasts all day.

Not only was I fond of the smell but I was very impressed by Sabon’s website. The easy to use website has all kinds of neat natural products to get your body cleaned up and smelling good without spending loads of money-- it’s luxurious stuff at very affordable prices. I think the $32 price tag for the Sabon Aviv Eau de Toilette (jasmine) is worth it and I would definitely consider purchasing more stuff from this company. I love their mission statement and it seems they are very passionate about their ability to make a variety of bath and body products that smell yummy with natural ingredients.

Fashion Cents: 7 Style Basics that EVERYONE Should Know

Wednesday, February 17, 2010 • Permalink •

--By Kimberly Turner

Okay, these might be no brainers for you stylish Stiletto Jungle readers but once you watch the video, you will be able to think of at least 7 less stylish friends who need the advice.

Consider, in one day, I saw numerous accounts of people “sporting” these 7 faux pas. The breaking point was when I was standing at a service counter and there was a woman wearing a well worn wool coat (at least a couple of years old). The single breasted coat had a pleated skirt and tabbed sleeves. The pleats were still tightly closed because she had not removed the temporary thread from the bottom of the coat AND the tabbed sleeve on the left arm caught my attention because of the white label with the “100% Wool” tag still attached. Clearly, she needs this advice.

Now you know two of the “sins”. Watch the video for all 7.

Do you have any other basics you think everyone should know but they clearly don’t? Leave me a comment.

Review: DermaPro Silk Primer Foundation Primer

Tuesday, February 16, 2010 • Permalink •

--By Po C.

DermaPro Silk Primer Foundation Primer
DermaPro Silk Primer Foundation Primer

$35.95
Available at: beautyencounter.com

I am very big on foundation primers and I must say that DermaPro Silk Primer Foundation Primer is now my new favorite primer.

DermaPro Silk Primer Foundation Primer is a clear, light, liquid primer unlike any other I have tried. The first day I used this primer, I got complimented at lunch by my regular lunch-buddy. It was a rainy day and I know my hair had nothing to do with it, so I attribute that compliment to the one thing that changed in my routine-- this primer. My foundation had a great base, shine was minimized, and my make-up was optimized.

In comparison to my previous favorite primer, Givenchy's Mister Mat primer, DermaPro Silk Primer has a more liquid-like consistency and feels lighter and actually quite refreshing. MAC's foundation primer felt a little heavy and, although I don't know for sure, it may have caused a pimple or two :(. (Don't get me wrong, though-- MAC is an awesome brand with the best lipsticks and eyeliner!) After using DermaPro Silk Primer several days in a row, I noticed no negative effect so I am not concerned about break-outs. Also, the light consistency makes me not worry about clogged pores. NARS primer is good, but sticky and whitening, which is kind of annoying when I am in a hurry because I have to wait for it to relax on my skin. I did not have this problem with DermaPro Silk.

Clearly, DermaPro Silk Primer Foundation Primer is the hands-down winner. I am very happy to have been introduced to this product and I look forward to using it again and again, and getting more compliments! I definitely recommend this product to everyone!

Spring Fashion: Wearable White

Take a Bow Gloves in Creme
Take a Bow Gloves

$49.99
Available at: modcloth.com

Even if you’re not walking down the aisle, white is a color that will get you up-to-date and a lot of thumbs up for spring. High end designers are making it obvious that white is the color of the season. White is also the color of purity and cleanness, unless you're from China. But, any way you look at it, white is a color that goes beautifully with sun kissed skin and every bright, bold color that comes along in spring. Let’s blossom and go white!

Bow down to these sexy white Take a Bow gloves. Imagine driving in the a.m. with a pair of white leather gloves that will keep your hands warm while looking like a diva in angel disguise. Any cold morning will do, enabling you to wrap your hands in sassy gloves with a bow on the wrist. My initial attraction to the gloves was how chic they are, but with a touch of innocence. I think even a cop would cut you some slack if he gets a glance of these white hand warmers.

Lulu's Martha's Vinyard Jacket
Martha's Vinyard Jacket

$42.00
Available at: lulus.com

If wrapping your hands isn’t enough to keep you warm, try wrapping yourself in this Martha’s Vineyard Jacket. The soft woven fabric is perfect for a chilly day when your outfit needs a nice little twist. Turn any ordinary outfit into a more polished one with this comfortable woven cover-up. The two panels draped over one another is a delicate way to wrap you up. This is a year-round jacket-- wear it as your main cover up in the warm months and under a bigger jacket in the colder seasons. Light and simple, it will go well with everything.

Extravagance is the best way to describe the Elysee Collection Pencil Skirt from White House Black Market. The white pencil skirt with ruffles cascading from one side of the skirt is very classy, making it a work-worthy skirt. Ruffles add a feminine touch to the skirt as well as dimension. You won't have to worry about this skirt wrinkling up in the car or a suitcase because it is wrinkle resistant and washable, making your life a whole lot easier without having to dry clean and iron this skirt every time you want to wear it.

Going white is easy and adds brightness to your look, so shed some light on white this season and you’ll be glistening like the snow.

Review: DermaPro Detoxifying Ion Mask

Derma Pro Detoxifying Ion Mask
DermaPro Detoxifying Ion Mask

$30.40 - $83.80
Available at: dermapro.com

The DermaPro Detoxifying Ion Mask is made of a natural green clay and helps tighten and deep clean your skin as well as clean out bacteria. I always notice the fragrance of a product first, and was a bit fearful given the "green clay" look of the mask that it wouldn't smell so great. But it smelled nice, very natural and earthy.

After leaving on a few minutes, I noticed that my skin felt a great deal of tingling. Just to caveat, I have sensitive skin and am living in a very dry New York winter and my skin was desperately in need of some moisture. After taking the mask off, I did notice that my skin was very clean but needed even more moisture than before. I liked this mask but would suggest using it in summer months or warmer climates because I think it would do a fantastic deep cleaning job when your skin is tired and oily, but not fabulous for the middle of winter.
-- Pearl C.

I tried out the DermaPro Detoxifying Ion Mask and I was very disappointed. I had to re-wash my face and use toner after using this mask. It didn't leave any residue, it just didn't feel or look like it cleaned my pores. My face felt oily and greasy after I washed off the thin layer of clay mask. I wouldn't recommend it, and I would never purchase it for my personal use. Thumbs down.

New & Hot: Kardashians by bebe

Kardashians by bebe Leather Pencil Skirt
Kardashians Leather Pencil Skirt

$149.00
Available at: bebe.com

After much tabloid-style press coverage, the new Kardashians by bebe line is finally available for purchase online and in store. The mini-collection, which features thirteen pieces, offers a limited range of primarily going-out attire. The prices range from $59 for a Sexy Zip Top to $159 for an Asymmetric Blazer.

I won't lie-- much of the line scares me. The pieces feel like they are trying too hard to be cutting edge and the result is a line that actually looks dated. There's nothing worse that being two seasons behind on that too-easy-to-place look. There are pieces in this line that practically scream cheap knock-off of Balmain Fall 2009. Enough said.

But, despite my general aversion to the line, I did find a couple of pieces that show promise when separated from the pack. The Kardashians by bebe Leather Pencil Skirt at $149 is well-priced for a genuine leather skirt and has a higher-waisted silhouette that doesn't feel too trendy. The Silk Jumpsuit is a classier wardrobe piece, but the 32 inch inseam makes it unsuitable for us taller fashionistas. If a 32 inch inseam will still allow you to wear a high heel without looking like you are waiting for a flood, I'd give this jumpsuit a try.

Click on any photo or linked text to link directly to that item, or check out the entire Kardashians by bebe line for yourself.

Spring Beauty: Pampered Feet Must-Haves

Burt's Bees Pedicure Kit
Burt's Bees Pedicure Kit

$12.99
Available at: drugstore.com

Pretty soon it’s going to be hard to resist slipping on a pair of sexy, toe-revealing shoes. Strappy and sassy only goes so far when you haven’t taken care of your feet! In order to look and feel your best it is crucial to pamper your feet. After being in boots for several months it’s hard to get your feet back in shape for their big debut. With love, and great products, you can get rid of cracks and rough skin around the heels, and get your feet gorgeous without spending tons of money.

Set aside 10 minutes a day to spend on your feet and they will be glad you did. Not only will you see a big difference in the looks department, but you will also feel less stressed. It is hard to see results after a few attempts, or at least not permanently soft feet. Without consistency there won’t be any cute toes or heels to glare at when prancing around in hot stilettos. So, be loyal to your pampering routine and you’ll be able to refrain from looking like you were in a barefoot war. Bend over ladies and scrub before lathering in order to keep your walking mechanisms admirable.

Cooling Foot Scrub
Earth Therapeutics Cooling Foot Scrub

$6.75 (was $9-- save 25%!)
Available at: ulta.com

And, speaking of lathering, I’m practicing what I preach as I’m typing. My feet are absorbing Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Creme bundled up in their bright yellow signature socks-- I love this stuff! The Coconut Foot Creme is miraculous. You will actually see a difference in a couple days, but continue this routine a few times a week to get greater results that keep your feet soft all the time. Before bed time I lather up my clean feet with Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Creme and cover them up with socks (any socks). This particular Burt’s set that I recommend comes with pumice (which works wonderfully), the Coconut Foot Creme, and a pair of yellow socks. It’s a good idea to keep a couple pumice stones around: one to use in the shower along with a foot scrub, and the other on clean, dry feet to soften up rough patches.

In the shower I like using something that will not only clean and soften my feet, but also give a clean cooling effect. I enjoy using Earth Therapeutics Cooling Foot Scrub. It’s an exfoliant foot scrub that leaves the feet feeling softer by getting rid of the dead skin cells. The mint oil and menthol ingredients give the feet a cool-fresh feel while simultaneously moisturizing them-- it alleviates anxiety instantly.

If a cooling foot scrub can’t get the job done well enough, then try Bath and Body Works effervescent Aromatherapy Foot Soak. This tranquil peppermint oil fights mental fatigue by starting at the feet and working its way up. The rosemary essential oil is supposed to improve thinking and foster creativity-- maybe I should have been soaking my feet instead of lathering them up in coconut creme? Either way, using all or one of my recommended methods will be a step in the right direction to happier and prettier feet.

Review: Revlon Fantasy Lengths Faux Lashes

Revlon Fantasy Lengths Faux Lashes, Lush
Revlon Fantasy Lengths in Lush

$4.75
Available at: madamemadeline.com

I tried out the Revlon Fantasy Length Faux Lashes in Lush and Precision. The Lush lashes came in little short bursts of lash while the Precision looked a little more like the standard fake lash. I didn't like the glue given with these lashes because it ended up clumping a lot and was tough to get off the skin after taking off the lashes. I highly suggest using another glue, like Duo Eyelash glue-- you can even buy it in a darker color or lighter color to match your skin tone.

The lashes themselves were a bit long for me, and seemed to spike out-- a quick hit of the eyelash curler helped tame the ends. Ultimately, the lashes stayed on well and the price and convenience factor (they are sold in most drugstores) make them a steal, but I probably would choose a more natural length from their collection.

Revlon Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Glue On Eyelashes, Intensifying
Revlon Fantasy Lengths in Intensifying

$3.84 (was $5.49-- save 30!)
Available at: drugstore.com

The Revlon Fantasy Lengths Faux Lashes are awesome! I love them so much! I have actually used the brand and both lines a lot, and they are very reliable. The only thing I would change is the glue it comes with. I prefer putting the lashes on using the clear Ardell LashTite glue. But, the lashes are phenomenal!

I prefer wearing the Lush eyelashes over the Intensifying. The Lush line gets you through 4 uses, as opposed to one, and it blends beautifully with real lashes. It comes with 4 little pieces for each side to place on the ends for that eye-opening look we are all after-- think, Kim Kardashian! The Intensifying line is flirty, but only good for one time use. I would definitely recommend both kinds of Revlon Fantasy Lengths for all ladies. They look real and get the sexy batting eyelash war started with a major upper hand.

It's Pantytime at American Apparel! What, you've never heard of Pantytime? It's the annual intimates sale at LA-based, and slightly controversial, casualwear brand American Apparel. Spring Fashion: Feminine Floral Prints

Diane von Furstenberg Syrah Silk Georgette Top
Diane von Furstenberg Syrah Top

$198.00
Available at: saks.com

Floral print is usually associated with warm weather, but there is nothing like being prepared for spring before the season hits. Plus, you can create warmth by layering spring items with cardigans and leggings. I was never a floral gal 'til a couple years ago when I realized the femininity of floral print. There are so many fashion designers who have embraced floral fashion in their designs. It reminds me of '50s glamour-- times when things were all about delicacy after the trouser days. I have found some great items that give floral a much-needed modern touch. Here comes flower overload…

I think silk and floral is such a sexy combination, and Diane von Furstenberg has brought it to my attention. She has taken the flirtiest fabric and mixed with a girly print, coming up with the Syrah Silk Georgette Top. This particular blouse has a sophisticated design incorporated with a girly colorful flower print. The blouse has a lot of little details that give off a spunky vibe that I find really attractive on women. If you think you can’t resist, preorder this blouse at Saks Fifth Avenue ASAP.

Lulu's Rosehip Tea Dress
Rosehip Tea Dress

$38.00
Available at: lulus.com

If Diane von Furstenberg has come on too strong with the silk and floral, I recommend checking out the Rosehip Tea Dress at Lulu's. It’s less powerful, but still remains loved by me. This is definitely a modern spin on a '50s look. This cutesy tea dress is also a colorful flower print on a beige background, along with a beige belt to accentuate the waist, polished off with short ruffled sleeves and a slight hint of shimmer finishing off this floral delight. The short length of the dress contributes to the modern flair, in addition to the casual nature of the dress. But, it comes with the '50s attitude, and a desire to frolic through a garden and drink tea, hence the name.

And at last, who wouldn’t want a floral jersey top with a tantalizingly deep cowl back? Hello Sexy! The black and white Print Draped Back Top from Rachel Pally is anything but simple. Don’t let the sophisticated color combo fool you, or the even more deceitful, good girl front of the jersey top. Embrace this playful look by wearing it with some tight jeans and sassy stilettos. If that makes you yawn, pair it with some playful leggings and wear sky high shoes and you will be far from simple.

First Look: Adriana Castro Nina Clutch

Monday, February 08, 2010 • Permalink •

Kim Kardashian wearing Adriana Castro
A girl can always use a fabulous new handbag, right? If you're looking for what's new and next for your collection, then we've got a little scoop for you.

Kim Kardashian was spotted in Miami just this week carrying a gorgeous, shiny croc clutch. Perfect for both a night out on the town and for lunching with friends, this chic clutch is a classic. And it's a classic we haven't seen before. Although Kim has been spotted several times carrying an elongated, traditional black croc clutch, this squared-off shiny version is all new.

So, what's the word on this delish new clutch? We received word from our friends at Adriana Castro that this is their brand new Nina Clutch. This is not just the first spotting of the Adriana Castro Nina Clutch in the wild... it's the first spotting period. This find from the Adriana Castro Fall 2010 line has yet to even be seen by editors and buyers. But, we've got the dish right now.

Adriana Castro Nina Clutch
The genuine crocodile Nina Clutch features hidden magnetic closure, an interior open pocket and suede lining. It comes in a fresh squared-off shape, measuring 8"H x 9 1/2"W x 1 1/2"D. Kim was spotted carrying the Black Croc version, but this clutch will also be available in lizard, python and ostrich leg. The team at Adriana Castro supplied this picture of the Nina in Purple, Red and Black Croc, which we're assuming will be the first versions rolled out for purchase by us mere mortals.

Check out Adriana Castro to see, and shop for, the styles available now, and to keep up on the availability of the new Nina Clutch.

Review: Count Me Healthy Bracelet

Monday, February 08, 2010 • Permalink •

Count Me Healthy Original Bracelet
Count Me Healthy Bracelet

$88.00
Available at: countmehealthyjewelry.com

I was very excited to get to try out the Count Me Healthy Bracelet and see how it could help me keep track of my new daily goal. After the holidays I was feeling tired and less active. I recently made a choice to transition to eating at least 80% of my daily meals based on raw food (The Raw Food Diet). I cut out all processed foods, making a choice for a cleaner healthier diet.

I am married, work full time and am mom of two. My weeknights are busy with the family, house and getting to the gym. I have always had a difficult time drinking water that our body requires throughout the day and other healthy eating goals. As I enter my fourth week of my new commitment to healthier eating, I now have four beads shifted to the right side of the Count Me Healthy Bracelet for the number of weeks I have been able to keep the goal of eating more of my daily intake of calories coming from natural fruits and vegetables. I use the left side of the bracelet to monitor the amount of water I drink daily. The Count Me Healthy Bracelet reminds me to be accountable for making the right food choices for me. The bracelet is a nice sterling silver bracelet that I have received many compliments on from co-workers and friends. I love the fact the bracelet fits in with both my corporate attire by day, and definitely fits well with weekend jeans a T-shirt.

The Count Me Healthy Bracelet is a remarkable idea to help woman who are working on sticking to their goals, whether they are eating healthier, working out or career-related. This is a personal reminder, helping you keep on track daily with the goals that you have set for yourself. Love the bracelet!
