Sale: Madewell Dancing Dots Cardigan 30% Off
The Madewell Dancing Dots Cardigan, available in both Heather Grey and Byzantine Brass (pictured here), features woven metallic polka dots on 100% merino wool. Both color options are currently available on sale for 30% off.
→ Buy the Madewell Dancing Dots Cardigan, $82.60 (was $118-- save 30%!), at shopbop.com; shipping and returns are free.
New & Hot: Christian Louboutin Daffodile Point-Toe Platform Pumps
Why it's hot: Christian Louboutin just keeps topping himself when it comes to noteworthy shoes that stand out in a crowd. Building on the success of last year's seen-everywhere 5" platform pump, this new shoe takes the trend a step further with a teetering 6" pencil-thin heel and a fresh point-toe. This is the shoe that every starlet will be wearing on the red carpet in the coming months.
What to wear it with: Unless you work in a very creative office -- fashion, PR, art, etc. -- or you own your own business, I'd keep this shoe away from the workplace. Although I've been known to sport a 5" heel in the workplace under special sartorial circumstances, even I'm going to admit that a 6" spike heel will be out of place in most work environments.
Now, that being said, there are still plenty of places where this amazing shoe will be welcome and celebrated. The Christian Louboutin Daffodile Pump is practically begging for a night out on the town -- pair it with cocktail dresses, pencil skirts, skinny pants or tuxedo trousers, just to name a few options. This shoe is also destined to be the It shoe for those occasions where your fashion sense is in the spotlight, such as gallery openings, trunk shows and charitable events planned by the local crew of ladies who lunch.
Loving the look, but feeling a little worried about how you'd keep this shoe on your foot? It's also being made in a Mary Jane -- exact same silhouette, but with a strap. The Christian Louboutin Lady Daf Platform Mary Jane Pumps are currently available for pre-order.
→ Buy the Christian Louboutin Daffodile Point-Toe Platform Pump, $995.00, at saks.com.
→ Buy the Christian Louboutin Lady Daf Platform Mary Jane Pump, $995.00, at saks.com.

FOUND: Taylor Swift's Brown Fringe Bag
The deep mahogany color, vintage-look strap and antiqued metal detailing makes this bag look more like a choice thrift store find -- a relic from a forgotten time -- than a costume piece. I'd pair it with distressed flare jeans and a slouchy slub tee for a cool, retro vibe that will be perfect for a spring weekend of wandering aimlessly around town.
Want to steal Taylor Swift's brown fringe bag style? She's sporting the McFadin Fringe Bag. In fact, she's been snapped toting this fringe handbag at least a half a dozen times. Now that's handbag love.
→ Buy the McFadin Fringe Bag, $396.00, at boutiquetoyou.com; shipping is free.
New & Hot: 3.1 Phillip Lim Seymour Tote
I must have been living under a rock or something, because I didn't realize that 3.1 Phillip Lim was still making handbags. And I definitely didn't realize that the line had improved so much from it's early days, which were kind of a mess. A chance encounter in the ShopBop new arrivals section led me to a few choice finds, and I'm so glad I ran across this bag in particular because it's gorgeous.
The new 3.1 Phillip Lim Seymour Tote is a respectable 14" x 13" x 3" and crafted from rich beige leather that is, inexplicably, labeled as "Rose" colored. It's also available in the much more understandably named "Black".
What I love about this tote is that it has a ton of details -- zippers, pouches, pockets and even a detachable interior coin purse -- but it still looks simple, verging on minimalist. Perhaps it's the size of this bag that helps with the minimalism illusion. Whatever it is, I like it. In fact, I love this bag so much that I kind of want to hug it.
→ Buy the 3.1 Phillip Lim Seymour Tote, $725.00, at shopbop.com; shipping and returns are free.
FOUND: Olivia Palermo's Animal Print Dress
Olivia Palermo was recently spotted wearing a simple crepe cap sleeve dress with an all-over black and white animal print. The look is classic and luxe without being boring. Want to steal Olivia Palermo's black and white animal print dress style for yourself? She's wearing the quite affordable (given the wearer) Tibi Animal on Crepe Cap Sleeve Dress.
It's hard to beat the fit and flattering cut of a Tibi dress, and the graphic animal print on this one makes it all the more irresistible. Dress it up with accessories for a night out, or pair it with a black blazer and reasonably sensible shoes for a creative office look.
→ Buy the Tibi Animal on Crepe Cap Sleeve Dress, $368.00, at singer22.com.
Best Seller: Club Monaco Layla Dress
Fresh from the recently updated best sellers list at shopbop.com, the Club Monaco Layla Dress is perfect for work. It's made from a durable (and inexpensive) rayon/ nylon blend in an appropriately conservative navy shade. But, before you get totally bored, click through and view some of the close up shots of the detailing.
The Layla dress features excellent ruching and vertical seaming at the wide waistband that will be visually slimming while adding a little extra flair to this workday staple. Those details, and the outstanding affordable price, is why this dress is a best seller.
→ Buy the Club Monaco Layla Dress, $179.00, at shopbop.com; shipping and returns are free.
New & Hot: Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
Clinique recently introduced a new Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. Just like the name would lead you to believe, this mascara is designed to be used exclusively on the bottom lashes. The brush is tiny and the formula is designed to resist smudges -- a must for the tricky bottom lash area. And, in stroke of pure marketing genius, Clinique is billing this as an item you can pair with any mascara on top.
Super smart marketing aside, this product does make a great deal of sense. Bottom lashes are easier to coat with a smaller sized brush and do benefit for a more smudge-resistant formula -- two qualities you don't necessarily want in an all-over mascara. I'll bite.
→ Buy Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, $10.00, at nordstrom.com.
New & Hot: Vince Shrunken Linen Blazer
This Vince blazer doesn't overwhelm shorts, as pictured here, thanks to its lighter color and construction. But, I'm really loving the idea of this blazer with a pair of the light blue wash flare jeans that keep popping up for Spring. It will dress up the look without clashing with the pale wash the way a black blazer would.
→ Buy the Vince Shrunken Blazer, $375.00, at shopbop.com; shipping and returns are free.

One of my favorite finds is pictured here. The 7 For All Mankind Rickie jean is perfect for Spring and Summer with its cropped silhouette and laid-back vibe. It's on sale for just $56.25. In case you need a little perspective, that's less than the price of a pair of Gap jeans. Yeah, I knew you'd be happy.

Best Seller: Elizabeth and James Carnaby Blazer
This new take on the basic black blazer does bring something slightly new to the table, which is likely why it is a current best seller in the Contemporary department at Saks Fifth Avenue online. The Elizabeth and James Carnaby Blazer is a luxe, tailored Italian wool blazer with a button front and notched lapels. The unique part is the bright white lining that peeks out at the back of the button cuffs and the dramatically slit tail -- click through to view the backside to see the magic. This bestseller is just as versatile as a plain black blazer, but does it all with just a little more style.
→ Buy the Elizabeth and James Carnaby Blazer, $425.00, at saks.com.
New & Hot: One Language Amper Tote + Laptop Sleeve
The One Language Amper Tote with Laptop Sleeve is a bit of a different shape and a bit of a different style, while maintaining the eco-friendly canvas construction that has become a must-have in the office tote department. This tote features an ampersand graphic on the front, with snap side gussets and double handles. The padded laptop sleeve features matching graphic, double handles, and zip closure. The interior of the tote has a zip pocket, 2 snap-tab pockets, and space for the laptop. Altogether, lots of organization and lots of style.

Shop This: Moda Operandi Lets You Shop the Runway
Today marks the launch of new invite-only online shopping side Moda Operandi. According to their website, Moda Operandi "provides fashion trendsetters with access to complete collections from the finest brands - including exclusive ready-to-wear, accessories and jewelry - immediately following their runway show." Basically, they are taking the concept of a trunk show, speeding up the process to immediately after the runway show, and taking the whole thing online. Really, it's kind of a fantastic idea.
Moda Operandi is the brainchild of two fashion powerhouses. Co-founder Aslaug Magnusdottir is a darling of the fashion investment and consulting world, most recently having served as VP over at Gilt Groupe. And I'm sure her Harvard MBA will come in handy, too. Co-founder Lauren Santo Domingo is a contributing editor at Vogue and a well-known (and well bred) NYC It-girl.
Moda Operandi has a full schedule for their first week, starting with Alexander Wang today, and continuing the week with Carolina Herrera and Prabal Gurung. Next week delivers Vera Wang, Proenza Schouler and Thakoon. They'll be following NYC with the fashion weeks of Milan and Paris. Want to get in on the action? You'll have to apply. And, unlike those other "invite only" sites, this one appears to actually be vetting applicants -- be prepared to answer questions on everything from your line of work, to your reading list and your preferred designers.
→ Visit Moda Operandi online.
New & Hot: Not Too Coy Pansy Pump
The Not Too Coy Pansy Pump features a fabric ribbon and flower embellishment poised over the vamp of a leather peep-toe upper. Before you go thinking that this shoe is a little too little girl, notice that this frothy style is perched on top of a very grown up 5" heel with a 1.5" platform. It's available in three color/ fabric combinations, including Black, White and the Yellow color pictured here.
Yes, it's completely impractical, but the Pansy would look amazing paired with a solid colored dress for a special occasion. Perhaps for those 6 weddings you'll be attending this summer?
→ Buy the Not Too Coy Pansy Pump, $125.00, at zappos.com; shipping and returns are free.

Under $100: Steve Madden Marryy Platform Espadrille
The Steve Madden Marryy platform espadrille is a nice, simple platform espadrille that is free of unnecessary bells and whistles. It has a traditional canvas upper with a raffia-wrapped 4" platform heel and a manmade sole. It comes in three colors -- Grey (shown here), Black and Natural. Wrap it all up, add a reasonable price tag, and this shoe becomes a must-purchase before the warm days of Spring and Summer set in.
→ Buy the Steve Madden Marryy Espadrille, $89.95, at zappos.com; shipping and returns are free.
The Best Jeans for Boyish Figures
The most vocal members of the "I can't find the right jeans" club tend to be women with pear-shaped bodies or who are looking for designer plus-size jeans options. But, they aren't the only ones with denim difficulties. Let's take a moment to discuss the best jeans for boyish figures.
At first glance, boyish figures look like they're made for jeans -- long, lean and low on curves. But, put the wrong jeans on a boyish figure and suddenly you look a whole lot like a 12-year-old boy. Hardly appealing. Here are some of my favorite jeans for boyish figures:
My personal favorites, True Religion Billy Jeans, fit slim and dissect your hip at just the right place to fake a bit of a curve, while the button pockets enhance the backside.

→ Buy True Religion Billy Jeans, $196.00, at neimanmarcus.com; this item ships for free with code LOVE through 2/14/11.
7 For All Mankind's Ginger trouser-style jeans have a flattering high waist that practically creates hips out of thin air.

→ Buy 7 For All Mankind Ginger Jeans, $155.00, at nordstrom.com.
Sometimes it's fun to just work what you've got. Radcliffe Denim's Oxford Jeans have a fashion-forward carrot shape that looks best on boyish figures. Oh, and since they're no longer in production, you can get them for 90% off.

→ Buy Radcliffe Denim Oxford Jeans, $19.95 (was $200-- save 90%!), at 6pm.com.
Skinny jeans are always flattering for boyish shapes, and no one does skinny better than J Brand.

Try This: The Laundress Denim Cleaning Service
As lovers of fine overpriced denim know, hardcore denim fanatics don't wash their jeans. It's true, jeans wear better, last longer and look so much better if you abstain from traditional washing. But, what's a fashionista to do when her favorite pair of $400 jeans develop a stain or noticeable hem grunge? Enter The Laundress Denim Cleaning Service.
The Laundress, maker of all sorts of cleaners and accoutrements for your fine washables, has a mail-in denim cleaning service that will delicately cleanse your denim loves for a mere $20. The denim service method combines The Laundress Denim Wash and cleaning from the experts in laundering.
To take advantage of the service, you simply purchase the Denim Cleaning Service at The Laundress online site for $20 per pair. Then, you pack up your denim and send it via UPS, DHL or FedEx, with delivery confirmation. The denim team at The Laundress will then pre-treat, wash and steam your designer denim and mail it back to you, with delivery confirmation, free of charge.
I haven't tried the service personally, although it's definitely on my to-do list after the local cleaners practically ruined a pair of artfully distressed Current/Elliott jeans. The service is recommended by online purveyor of all things fashionable and expensive, Net-a-Porter. I tend to trust them.

Steal: BB Dakota Taylor Twill Cape $92
The BB Dakota Taylor Twill Cape is made from cotton with a hint of Spandex for stretch. It's available in sizes S-L, but capes are generally forgiving and exact sizing isn't all that important -- I'd estimate that S-L in a cape would fit sizes XS-XL in real life. I'd pair this fun find with all sorts of Spring ensembles, from dresses and skirts to skinny jeans, to add a layer of insta-chic.
→ Buy the BB Dakota Taylor Twill Cape, $92.00, at tobi.com.
Under $100: Cole Haan Air Miranda Pump
These Cole Haan Air Miranda Pumps are perfect for work, particularly if you work in one of those pesky conservative offices where dress codes call for modest heels. The Miranda Pump features a leather, patent leather, metallic leather, snake-embossed leather or nubuck upper -- depending on which style you prefer.
Yes, this versatile shoe comes in 9 different color combinations. Whatever the hole in your shoe wardrobe, there's a Cole Haan Miranda Pump to fill it. The prices for the different styles vary a bit, but all are well under $100. This pump is also part of the Cole Haan "Air" line, which has built-in Nike Air technology. That means that this is a dress shoe you can actually walk in over normal distances.
→ Buy the Cole Haan Air Miranda Pump, $79.20 (was $198-- save 60%!), at 6pm.com.
New & Hot: True Religion Carrie Flare Jeans
The True Religion Carrie Flare Jeans feature the silhouette du jour: slightly higher waist, slim hip and thigh, extra wide leg opening. The back pocket design is the flat, stitched horse shoe style, like you'd find on the classic Bobby style. Although I'm partial to the backside-enhancing button pockets (like on the Joey fit), the slim lines of the stitched pocket compliment the shape of these jeans perfectly.
→ Buy the True Religion Carrie Flare Jeans, $225.00, at shopbop.com; shipping and returns are free.
Under $100: Aldo Sauber Wood Heel Pumps
Sure, the wood heels are super on-trend for Spring, but (surprisingly) that's not the part that drew me to these crazy-affordable pumps. It's the ever-so-slightly distressed leather that pulled me in.
The Aldo Sauber Wood Heel Pumps feature a leather upper with man-made lining on a 5" heel. Don't fret over the height, there's a substantial 1.5" platform to offset the nosebleed heel. The retro-chic vibe and substantial visual heft of these sale-priced pumps will be perfect for pairing with all of those flare jeans and trousers you'll be sporting for Spring.
→ Buy the Aldo Sauber Wood Heel Pumps, $67.50 (was $90), at zappos.com; shipping and returns are free.

Under $100: DV by Dolce Vita Pali Sandal
Did you fall head over heels for this Spring's must-have Dolce Vita Jade Sandal, but can't stomach the $180 price tag for a trendy sandal shape? If so, you're going to love this new find from Dolce Vita's lower priced DV line.
The DV by Dolce Vita Pali Sandal is a leather sandal with manmade lining and sole. It features a criss-cross strap pattern and covered wedge, just like the higher priced sandal. But, it comes in a just over half the price. The Pali Sandal is available in five colors -- Desert (shown here), Black, Brown, Grey and Magenta.
→ Buy the DV by Dolce Vita Pali Sandal, $87.95, at zappos.com; shipping and returns are free.
New & Hot: Tory Burch Self Logo Reva Flats
These new Tory Burch Self Logo Reva Flats come in four gorgeous, saturated colors -- Dark Cactus (shown here), Island Pink, Royal Tan and Ray Yellow. All four come in pebbled leather upper with a rubber sole. But, unlike the standard gold or silver tone medallion logo versions, these "self logo" Revas feature a logo medallion that matches the color of the shoe. Kind of a logo in disguise. The rich colors are what initially attracted me to these shoes, and the matching logo really helps to show off the color since your eye isn't distracted by a metallic logo. Fun.
→ Buy the Tory Burch Self Logo Reva Flats, $195.00, at shopbop.com; shipping and returns are free.
Sale: ASOS Leather Bomber Jacket $165.50
The early Spring '70s-inspired trend fits perfectly with a slim bomber jacket, like this sale priced find from ASOS. The ASOS Leather Bomber Jacket comes in three colors -- Black, Chocolate and Honey (pictured here) -- and all three are on sale for just $165.50, marked down from $206.88.
This jacket's shell is 100% leather, and it has a cotton lining. For that oh-so-now '70s look, pair this jacket with your favorite pair of '70s-inspired trouser jeans. For a more timeless look, try it with your weekend jeans or pair it with a floaty dress to anchor the ensemble.
→ Buy the ASOS Leather Bomber Jacket, $165.50 (was $206.88), at ASOS.com; shipping is free.
Under $100: Mia Belle Platform Sandal
This new Mia Belle Platform Sandal covers Spring's wooden heel trend at a price that is super affordable. This fun sandal features a faux-leather upper with manmade footbed and sole. I'm pretty sure that makes it vegan, but I'm not venturing out on that limb. I know that it does mean that this shoe is considerably less expensive than a similar shoe in leather would be, and that's always fun. Who wants to pay an arm and a leg for trendy shoes that may not be so hot next season?
→ Buy the Mia Belle Platform Sandal, $69.95, at zappos.com; shipping and returns are free.
