yellow's big role in Spring 2012 definitely has me window shopping for some new yellow pieces. This new shoe find instantly popped out as a great way to incorporate the hue into Spring ensembles.
The new Rachel Zoe Bardot Platform Sandal is a leather sandal with ankle strap perched on top of a 1.75" woven detail platform. The heel height is a lofty 5.5", which would be nicely offset by the substantial platform. And, can I say, I'm so glad that the Rachel Zoe label got through those initial stumbles in the accessory department. The shoes in the debut collection were horrible, but have steadily improved since then, reaching a new high for Spring 2012. This stylish sandal is a perfect example of the smart new direction the label is taking.
So, where to wear this lovely shoe? For casual occasions, I like this sandal paired with cropped jeans of either the skinny or boyfriend variety -- both excellent options for showing off a standout shoe. This gorgeous shoe is also ideal for pairing with dressier items. The color will go nicely with many of Spring's super hot florals, and will also create a cool color block effect (yes, still popular for Spring) when matched up with a solid dress. Try coordinating this pretty mustard with grey, brown, deep blue or even a tomato red.
