check out my eBay store for my attempts at pruning. Three years ago, as a fairly recent re-plant from San Diego, I didn't own a single coat. I now have over 20. This is a problem.
Now, I tell you this because I am shaking my head as I get ready to point out my favorite shopping find of the weekend -- the Zara Coat With Leather Sleeves. This is the absolute last thing I need to be spending money on. Which, of course, means it's the one thing I can't stop thinking about. But, it's just so pretty...
This sleek, two-toned coat features a wool-blend ivory boucle knit main section detailed with partially quilted black leather sleeves. It's fully lined and features a bright gold tone zipper. The look is super upscale and undeniably chic -- this is definitely one of those Zara items that looks way more expensive than it really is. It's only $229.00, which I think is a steal for a quality wool blend coat that is fully lined and has a substantial amount of actual leather.
This is not a coat for inclement weather (good for me; bad for those of you living in the snow belt). But, if the level of actual coat functionality agrees with your geographically-dictated needs, this coat will be very versatile this fall. Paired with distressed skinny jeans, boots and a colorful scarf, this jacket will look kind of tough. But, imagine it over a simple sheath dress and proper heels and suddenly you have an outfit worth of a nice dinner out or a date with the local symphony or art gallery. Definitely a worthy fall acquisition.
