--Guest Post By Jill at The High Heel Whore

I find there are two types of people; those who love the winter, getting all bundled up in snow gear and hitting the slopes and those who love summer, preferring the life of palm trees and 80 degrees!

And depending what coast you hail from you fancy one over the other.

Obviously what you put on your foot will greatly differ from the Eastern to Western coastlines and I’m here to help you navigate your way into Fall’s new phat flats trends!

Just in case you are geographically challenged, like myself, the West Coast is much warmer and milder in the fall than the East Coast. I’m talking sunny, dry California afternoons versus wet, cold New York weather.

So how does one dress appropriately? Well, for starters, you keep reading.

West Coast Wandering

To put your best Fall fashion foot forward on the West Coast, you are going to want to find a shoe that breathes. I’m sure you know where I’m going with this. Warm weather leads to sweaty feet, which leads to one thing you surely don’t want; stinky shoes!

To avoid this, slip into some nubuck leather flats. Nubuck is grainer than other leathers which is why it offers such great breathability.

Add a pointed toe, which is oh-so-in this season and you’ve got yourself a perfect flat! A great example of this is the Steven Eternnal.

Pair it with skinny jeans, a blouse and some Manhattan shades to keep all that West Coast sun out of your peepers. Not only will you have the perfect flat, you’ve got yourself one heck of a sexy Audrey Hepburn inspired Autumn appropriate outfit!

Easy Stepping on the East Coast

You want to look hot, but the weather’s well...not! I got a fix for that! A few of this seasons’ biggest trends are bold colours, patterns, and the loafer.

The Michael Kors MK City Flat is a great example of colour. This rubber soled, leather upper flat is perfect for the inclement weather of the East.

It’s weather-friendly, cute, comfortable and goes with any outfit. Emblazoned with the MK brand will keep you looking New York savvy as well!

For a more traditional, Connecticut-inspired look grab a pair of lady loafers. A metallic-inspired loafer is just the thing to add a little extra bling to an otherwise gloomy Fall day.

Cole Haan Air Sloane Moc Loafer

→ Buy the Cole Haan Air Sloane Moc Loafer, $139.99 (was $198.00), at zappos.com; shipping and returns are free.

Et voila. From bold prints and brazen patterns, to pointed toes and lady loafers you’ll be stylin’ and profilin’ from East to West. Just stock your closet with these phat flats and give those high heels a little rest.
