Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Shaman Dress
I’ve never been much for floral prints, but this new Vivienne Westwood dress turned my head before I even realized I was looking at a flower motif. This magnolia print oozes an intellectual sensuality that’s one part Georgia O’Keeffe and one part Frida Kahlo. It’s definitely not your little sister’s floral.

Vivienne Westwood is known for glorious asymmetric draping, and this dress doesn’t disappoint in that regard.

The lightweight viscose/ silk blend crepe de chine hangs like a dream, creating a very flattering cut that skims curves while still feeling quite slim. The drape extends from the neckline down through the waist and around to the lower back – click through the photo at left to see additional views and a handy video.

Let’s face it, this dress will be out of place in conservative workplaces, but you could definitely rock it in a more creative work environment or for a work party. You’ll get the most mileage out of this dress, however, in purely social situations.

With nude sandals and a chic little clutch, this dress will be perfect at a luncheon or other daytime affair. Fall or winter bridal shower, anyone? Add metallic shoes and gold statement jewelry and this frock could easily go sophisticated-evening.

The fit and pattern are modern, but not too trendy to justify the investment-level price tag, while the options for use cover a decent range of I-need-a-fabulous-dress situations. Perfect.
