5 Skinny Jeans for Winter

--Guest Post By Lorna Burford

I have been addicted to jeans since I was little. After working in the industry writing about premium denim for about 7-8 years, I have developed quite a huge collection of jeans myself and an expertise on the fabric, fit, cut, washes and more. It's a huge passion of mine, but as I love fashion all around, I do have a way of creating different outfits, but usually by using the jeans as a base and building something up around it.

Being a personal style and fashion blogger, it's important to me to make sure that my outfits are on trend, but my style in general is very classic and tailored, with some casual elements mixed in. One thing I can never be without though are some classic jeans for winter, so I have listed 5 of my favourite jeans for the winter time, keeping with the darker colour palette and making sure they go with many different outfits.

Paige Edgemont Skinny Jeans in Woodberry, $289.00

These Paige jeans are absolutely amazing! Burgundy is a huge colour for autumn and winter and has been popular for years now. You really can't go wrong with it as it's as versatile as blue!

The best part about these jeans though is the hip zippers to give a great edge to the look. They are angled so they look flattering, but the jeans also have a coating over the top so they are even more perfect for winter! In my opinion burgundy goes with black, white and navy the most, as well as grey, so you can wear these jeans with plenty of different options!

James Jeans Couture Skinny Jeans, $180.00

Next on my list is a pair of jeans that I actually can't be without all year around, not just for winter, but I included them here because the dark indigo shade is perfect for the darker nights of Autumn.

The couture collection from James Jeans is incredible, they are actually designed to contour the hips, suction the thighs, eliminate muffin top and also make your butt a little more pert with slightly padded pockets. They are one of the most perfect skinny jeans as they are tight all the way down and one of the most flattering! They literally go with everything!

Denimocracy Anarchy Knit Black Leggings, $99.00 - $162.00

These aren't jeans per-say, but they are a lot like them. They are by Denimocracy and they are made of a knitted fabric which is really thick, comfortable and stretchy, but they have a zipper fly, button closures and back pockets, so they act just like jeans. They are black and that means they go with absolutely everything, but they act both as a pair of leggings as well as jeans, so you get two in one with these! I have worn mine numerous times and I really can't be without them because of how comfortable they are!

Levi's Black Skinny Jeans, $78.00 - $195.00

I have had these Levi's Black Skinny Jeans for a couple of years and they are my ultimate favourite black skinny jeans! They have a pitch black wash to them and an incredible fit. I've been wearing them for years now and I always have them as my go to when I need black jeans for an outfit.

Black is always a great base colour and these are what I reach for when I want jeans instead of my thicker Denimocracy leggings. They have a very flattering fit on the butt and are very comfortable due to the high amount of stretch.

AG Adriano Goldschmied The Legging Jeans, $168.00

Finally, last but definitely not least, I have chosen the AG Adriano Goldschmied The Legging jeans. I haven't chosen a particular wash for these because they come in a variety of different mid blues, but I think the pairs like mine above in a medium wash are gorgeous!

Sometimes you don't always want darker blues when it comes to outfits and you need something to go with your winter white sweater, so depending on what you wear them with, they can always look winter appropriate! I love these though because of the incredible fit that AG have as they have angled back pockets and they are very soft and comfortable too, but the main this is how authentic they make their washes look!
