5 Best Bets from the OAK End of Season Sale

Tuesday, July 08, 2014

Do you shop OAK? I’m a fan, personally. If you’re not familiar, let me introduce you…

This 5-store mini-chain has locations in NYC/ Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Paris, and Tokyo, plus a fairly comprehensive online shopping experience. They specialize in vaguely minimalist, conceptual clothing from mostly indie labels plus their own house label and a smattering of well-known brands like Priory of Ten, Comme des Garcons, and Grey Ant.

The style is amazing, and the prices are pretty high: squarely on the high end of the contemporary spectrum. But, they have pretty great sales. The OAK End of Season Sale is on now, and the sale section is stocked full of great deals. But, in the interest of making your shopping super easy, I’ve pulled out five of my sale favorites.

Sale picks from the OAK End of Season Sale

I stuck to items that are still available in multiple sizes, but if you are willing to wade through the sale section there are a lot of single-size options marked way down. Now, onward…

1. Back by Anne-Sophie Back Velcro T-Shirt, $100.00 (was $125.00)
This classic tee shirt is given a modern update with a contrasting front Velcro gathered section. It’s funky, but not so crazy that you’re going to get stares in the Starbuck’s line. I love the idea of this shirt with slouchy white knee shorts and ugly-chic slides for summer.

2. Jeremy Laing Sleeveless Jumpsuit, $300.00 (was $600.00)
If you aren’t too timid to stand out in a crowd, this oversized white jumpsuit with exposed zippers is kind of fabulous. It’s a blank canvas for accessorizing – go funky with wedges, simple with slides, add a cross-body bag. There are really a ton of options for wearing this look this summer.

3. R13 Kate Sweatshirt, $122.50 (was $245.00)
I’m always looking for a simple, yet fabulous sweatshirt for weekend wear. This washed black crewneck fits the bill just perfectly.

4. LD Tuttle The balance Heel, $293.50 (was $587.00)
The OAK Sale has several very cool boots marked down, but most styles have just one size remaining. There are still a few sizes available in this back-zip boot, which is perfect for fall. But, if you are in the market for a fabulous new pair of minimalist boots, definitely browse the entire sale. You may luck out.

5. Avelon Legible Knitted Cardigan, $239.50 (was $479.00)
This cotton knit cardigan is one of my favorite pieces from the sale. I love the slouchy fit, large scale knit, and rolled short sleeves. It will be perfect for layering over tees on chilly summer days, or throwing on over slim sweaters come fall.
