3x1 Jeans - The Things We Keep Ring - Acne Jeans - Need Supply Sandals - Stelen Jumpsuit - Birkenstock Sandals

Through this Friday, May 1, at midnight ET contemporary fashion retailer Need Supply is offering 20% off a large selection of brand new spring fashions with coupon code SELECTS20. That’s right, brand new stuff marked down. So much fun to be had.

I would have zero problem supplying my entire wardrobe from Need Supply, so browsing through the markdowns was kind of a kid in a candy store moment for me. I pulled a handful of my favorites here, but the whole Spring Selects promotional section is worth a look-see.

1. 3x1 Wide Leg Pant, $236.00 after coupon (was $295.00)
I’m a new fan of 3x1’s gorgeous denim creations. They do selvedge particularly well, and these wide leg jeans are perfect example of why. The cut is so of the moment, as is the minimalist wash, and they’re manufactured in the USA.

5 Nordstrom Sale Finds You’ll Be Sorry You Missed

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

The Nordstrom sale section is chock full of fabulous deals right now, but they are disappearing fast. Evidence: over the weekend I pulled 11 of my favorites for a possible post this week; as of today only 5 are left in stock. Crazy.

I do love every one of these sale finds, though. These are the kind of deals you’ll be so sorry you missed when they are gone. Each one is a classic, high-quality wardrobe addition at a great price. And remember, shipping and returns are always free at Nordies. See what you think…

White silk is fresh and crisp for warm weather, particularly in the office. This blouse can also do double duty, layering well with your favorite sweater or cardigan in cooler weather.

Loving This Week: Celine-Lookalike Sunnies + an Easy Pullover

Sundry Pullover - And Other Stories Swimsuit - Giles and Brother Bracelet - And Other Stories Sunglasses - Elizabeth and James Handbag

I have another recent find from my new favorite online shopping service to share this week, plus a few well-priced summer essentials. Oh, and it was a good week for navy.

Check out all of my favorite online shopping finds this week…

1. Sundry Cropped Pullover, $90.00
I discovered this new-to-me brand via Lyon + Post, my new favorite online shopping service. I knew the minute I tried it on that I was keeping this crazy soft French terry pullover. It has a relaxed sweatshirt shape, but the tencel/ cotton/ rayon blend fabric feels luxurious and dressy. It’s perfect for the weekend or a casual workplace, and it’s available in four colors.

Everlane Debuts Sophisticated Linen Tees for Summer

Thursday, April 23, 2015

Everlane Linen Tee Shop

It’s no secret, I’m a big fan of San Francisco-based Everlane. When this luxe ethical retailer launches new styles, it’s a cause for celebration. Every piece in their extremely well-edited collection is divine.

New to Everlane? Here’s what you need to know. This online-only retailer specializes in ethically-sourced upscale basics. Their “radically transparent” approach to manufacturing results in excellent savings on well-made pieces you can feel good about buying.

Now let’s talk about those new linen tees. The slightly transparent, textured 100% linen fabric is machine washable (flat dry) and the cuts are modern, minimalist, and ultra-chic. They’re constructed in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, along with other pieces of Everlane’s knitwear collection. Check them out for yourself…

Sale Find: 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Messenger Bag 52% Off

Monday, April 20, 2015

3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Messenger Bag
I’m amazed at what a great sale find this is. It’s so rare to find a classic designer bag in a not-crazy color marked down this far. Happy Monday!

This gorgeous 3.1 Phillip Lim bag is not just pretty, it’s practical. The 9.5” x 12.5” x 3.0” size is spacious enough to tote paperwork and a tablet back and forth to work, while the dual handle and detachable shoulder strap give you options for carrying. It’s lined in black twill, which is good looking and won’t show pesky everyday messes like exploding pens.

This bag will be perfect for work, but has enough style to pair with your weekend casual look. It’s a bit too big for a night out, but that’s really the only occasion where this handbag will be out of place. It’s a smart investment at the regular price, but it’s a must-buy at this super sale price.

→ Buy the 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Messenger Bag, $359.20 (was $750.00), at barneyswarehouse.com.

Loving This Week: Skinny Boyfriend Jeans + White Loafers

Monday, April 20, 2015

Chinti and Parker Sweater - Karen Millen Sweater - Acne Studios Shoes - Pamela Love Ring - Paige Jeans

I found my new favorite pair of jeans this week, thanks to a smart new San Francisco-based company that lets you try on higher-end contemporary fashions at home before you buy. I should really review them soon so you can all share in the shopping fun.

Check out all of the finds that found their way into my online shopping cart this week…

1. Chinti and Parker Cashmere/ Silk Star Sweater, $465.00
I was going back and forth about an allover star knit sweater from Equipment when I ran across this similarly themed Chinti and Parker sweater. Suddenly the uniform, all-over star pattern seemed a little too precious; a little too perfect. This smattering of stars vibes more casual and funky. Oh, and it’s machine washable.

Sale Find: Barneys NY Mixed Knit Open-Front Sweater 42% Off

Thursday, April 16, 2015

Barneys New York Mixed Knit Open-Front Sweater
Like many of you, my office is freezing cold in the summer. To combat this assault on my ability to wear warm-weather clothes to work, I’ve developed a rather extensive cardigan and blazer collection.

This sale-priced find from the Barneys New York house label would be a welcome addition and bring a little bit of something new to the assortment. The contrasting knit weaves and button-free open front make this long cardigan shape look sleek and modern.

In my ultra-casual Silicon Valley workplace, I’d pair this light grey cardigan with a slouchy white v-neck tee and straight leg jeans. Just-funky-enough modern loafers would finish off the minimalist-chic look.

If your office requires a more polished look, try this sweater with a crisp white (no-iron!) button down, slim fit trousers, and mid heels. I adore a monochromatic grey/ black/ white look, but this particular shade of grey also looks outstanding with chocolate brown.

→ Buy the Barneys New York Mixed Knit Open-Front Sweater, $169.00 (was $289.00), at barneyswarehouse.com.

These 7 COS Pieces = Your Entire Spring Wardrobe

Thursday, April 16, 2015

There is a striking sense of unity to the new arrivals at Euro-minimalist label COS. Select the right handful of affordable pieces and you’ve got your entire spring wardrobe all sewn up.

Well, you’ve got your whole wardrobe if you live in shades of black, white, and grey year-round like I do. I get that this monochromatic color scheme is not for everyone, but these strong minimalist pieces are a great foundation for any wardrobe.

I haven’t actually done the fashion math, but I’m pretty sure these seven pieces, plus some fab shoes and accessories, will yield an entire month of fabulous casual work outfits. I love how that works out. See what you think…

This midi-length pencil skirt has a modern fit that sits high on the waist and hangs slightly lower in front than in the back. The black technical fabric upper has a contrasting white jersey underside that peeks through thanks to the high-low hem. It’s a fabulous spin on the traditional pencil shape.

Sale Find: Helene Berman Ikat Jacquard Coat 40% Off

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Helene Berman Ikat Jacquard Coat
Let’s just start with the fact that this coat looks about 100 times better in person. This weekend, on the way to my regular spa appointment, I stopped in the San Francisco Nordstrom to see what’s new. I found this stunner on the clearance rack. As soon as I tried it on, I knew it was a must-have.

I wish I could do this jacket justice with words. The fit is oversized, but slimmer at the bottom than the top when buttoned. The collar pops up a bit, which paired with the bracelet sleeves creates a cool retro vibe. The fabric is a beautifully woven jacquard, which is heavy enough to look clearly upscale, but not too heavy for spring wear.

It’s easy to see how this jacket will pair well with dressier pieces, but I think wearing it with casual items will make it really shine. I tried it on with skinny jeans, a simple v-neck tee, and flats, and this jacket instantly made the whole look pull together. Jeans and a tee are perfect for spring, and the coat is roomy enough to wear over a sweater for fall.

→ Buy the Helene Berman Ikat Jacquard Coat, $160.80 (was $268.00), at nordstrom.com; shipping and returns are free.

3 Off-Season Sweater Steals from Joie

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

The first warm days of spring are a perfect time for buying sweaters from top labels at discount prices. Yes, some of the heavier knits will have to be stowed away until fall, but it is worth the wait when you think about the dollars you save shopping off-season.

I’ve been scouting the Joie sale section for just these kinds of off-season finds. Joie is one of those labels I keep forgetting how much I enjoy. Then, I pick up a new item and fall in love with the label all over again. I’m currently deeply smitten thanks to a recent blazer find that fit like a dream. Now I have Joie on the brain, and these three steals are impossible to pass up…

This cropped wool sweater has casual chunky knit and striking oversized turtleneck that will pair well with jeans. It will look particularly cozy layered with a longer length tee shirt. It is available in parchment and camel colors, both marked down.

Sale Find: Michael Kors Cooper Chronograph Watch 47% Off

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Michael Kors Cooper Chronograph Watch
I went back and forth about featuring this sale-priced Michael Kors watch. On the one hand, this is a gorgeous watch at a great price. On the other hand, Michael Kors watches are so ubiquitous amongst the fashion blogger set that I’m just waiting for someone to pronounce them “basic.” Ahh, such a dilemma.

In the end, I decided to call out this watch because it perfectly embodies the kind of menswear-as-womenswear aesthetic that is exactly what I love most about minimalist fashion. The lines are clean and sharp, and the overall look is timeless.

Yes, every third fashion blogger has a Michael Kors watch on display in their Instagram feed, but popularity is just as bad of a reason for shunning an item as it is for embracing it. I'm feeling very enlightened all of a sudden.

Wear this classic chronograph watch with everything from jeans and a tee shirt to a party frock. I particularly like the way this stainless steel look pairs with dark grey, like in one of my favorite new Pinterest style pins.

5 Luxe-Looking Zara Finds to Buy Now

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

As regular Zara shoppers know, the store can be hit or miss. Many pieces look great in the website’s highly editorial photography, but fall flat or look downright cheap in real life, which makes online shopping risky. I aim to stop online buyer’s remorse in its tracks with these new picks.

This past weekend I took my monthly stroll through Zara to scout which pieces look more expensive than their super low price. I was excited by the overall direction of the looks in store right now. They are big on the ‘70s trend, which works well with Zara’s heavy reliance on polyester and other synthetic fabrics. But, I focused on finding timeless pieces that don’t feel overly trendy. Check out my favorite new Zara finds…

This orange-red dress is a knockout in person. It’s crafted from a super stretchy, but substantial viscose/ polyamide/ elastane fabric that hugs curves. But, the substantial nature of the material keeps it from showing every single bump and bulge. The color is exquisite, and the cut reminds me of a Victoria Beckham dress.

Sale Find: Derek Lam Colorblock Sweater 60% Off

Monday, April 13, 2015

Derek Lam Colorblock Sweater
This fine gauge modal/ polyamide knit from Derek Lam will be wearable through spring, and possibly into summer, in all but the warmest climates. The geometric colorblock can be worn casually, or as full-on professional office attire. The fine knit would even work under a suit jacket for some serious mid-winter layering.

Try this fun sweater with distressed cuffed jeans and slide sandals for the weekend. If you think you’ll primarily use this sweater as a casual piece, I’d consider sizing up for a more relaxed, slouchy fit.

When Monday rolls around, pair this knit with trousers or a pencil skirt for a polished office look. The beige/ orange combo will look great with chocolate brown, medium grey, or khaki. If you like bright combos, and your workplace is suitable for a more creative look, try pink or pale blue. I’d just avoid black, unless you’re going for a Halloween-inspired look.

Loving This Week: It Jeans + the Leather Skirt, Updated

Monday, April 13, 2015

R13 Jeans - Rachel Comey Jumpsuit - Public School Notebooks - Ancient Greek Sandals - Atterley Road Skirt

High-style updates to classic fashion shapes caught my eye this week, from an elastic waist black leather skirt to a relaxed take on ‘70s flares. These inventive labels are finding fun ways to keep a classic wardrobe fresh and moderm.

Check out all of my favorite online shopping finds this week…

1. R13 Jane Flared Jeans, $595.00
Flared, ‘70s-inspired jeans are the hot denim silhouette of the spring season. But, many of us have been down this trend’s road before, making it easy to get bored. These ultra-distressed flares are a modern update on the look, like a cross between the standard ‘70s silhouette and your favorite boyfriend jeans. Boredom alleviated.

Lovely Eyelet for Every Warm Weather Occasion

Thursday, April 09, 2015

--By Kim Moshtaghi

Eyelet has never been my favorite fabric, but it sure is a perfect fit for warm weather daytime functions.

Sometimes it is hard to find something to wear that looks and feels casual. Eyelet is hassle-free because it goes nicely with sandals or wedges for a Sunday bbq and poolside function. The carefree and breezy fabric doesn’t just have to be used to make curtains. Here’s a one-stop shop for a few trendy eyelet pieces…

This lovely blue eyelet dress is different from most because the zipper gives it a sexy flair. The length also allows you to wear this dress to work, as long as you leave the zipper all the way up, and it is nice to know you can change your look whenever you decide to unzip just a bit.

5 Stylish Wear-All-Day Mid Heel Pumps

Wednesday, April 08, 2015

Sky high pumps are a ton of fun, but some days you really just want to be able to walk in comfort from sunup to sundown. Enter the mid heel.

Taller than a true kitten heel, but still low enough to wear all day, the mid heel is currently experiencing a surge in popularity. I totally get it. This smart heel height is appropriate for all occasions and incredibly flattering. And the growing popularity means that labels are investing some serious creativity into mid heel pumps. Check out five of my current favorites…

This d’Orsay snake-embossed leather pump comes in chic black and elegant nude, but it’s this black and white combo that turned my head. Not only does this shoe look fabulous, the padded insole has customers raving about the comfort in reviews.

Spring White, From Head to Toe, Akris to Zara

Tuesday, April 07, 2015

--By Kim Moshtaghi

“White is what the human eye sees when it senses light...”

White is refreshing and clean looking. It was a huge winter trend in 2014, and it’s a head to toe trend for spring 2015. Keep the attention on you in this crisp, attractive look.

There are all kinds of gorgeous white shoes but I would like to start off with lower priced options before we begin easing ourselves into the pricier options. Plus, there is a time and place to wear your fancy ones as opposed to your affordable white kicks that won’t bother you when you scuff them up.

This embroidered white mesh pump is so cute! For $40 bucks it’s a complete no-brainer. It’s very appealing because the mesh gives it a summery feel and a look that goes hand in hand with this white shoe.

Loving This Week: Sleek Linen Blazer + the Best Detangler

Monday, April 06, 2015

J.Crew Dress - J.Crew Blazer - Knixwear Underwear - Emerson Fry Pants - Ojon Hair Mist

This week I discovered a brand new high-tech underwear line via Twitter that is truly unlike anything else I’ve seen in the space. Social media really is a fabulous way to find new things. I also returned to my favorite hair detangler, after diligently searching for a better option. If you have tangle-prone hair, you’ve got to try this mist.

Check out all of my favorite online shopping finds this week…

1. J.Crew Perforated Drapey Crepe Dress, $158.00
This easy, understated dress is available in black, which is my favorite. But, the black version doesn’t photograph well – you completely miss the perforations, which really do make the dress. Not only could this look be dressed up or down, it could be made to vibe prim or downtown-chic. Excellent versatility.
