I think it might be a sign that a celebrity fashion line is here to stay when other celebs start wearing the look as part of their everyday life. I'll be honest, I think most celebrity lines appeal almost exclusively to their fan base. There's a bit of a cheap feeling to most celeb lines, no matter what the actual pricetag reads. But, there seems to be an exception rising above the rest.

Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. label has been turning out consistently fabulous fashions since its inception. The line reflects Gwen's personal style: a little bit funky, a little bit posh, and a whole lot unique. Not only does Gwen Stefani regularly sport her own line, it seems that the rest of the style-setting Hollywood starlets are catching on to how fabulous L.A.M.B. really is. Recently super fashionable Cameron Diaz was spotted out to dinner at Balbi in LA carrying a L.A.M.B. signature bag.

I've got to give Cameron Diaz credit for going out on a fashion limb with her recent choice to sport a unique McQ by Alexander McQueen dress while out and about (left). I've gone back and forth about this dress since last week when I first saw this picture. My conclusion? I think I love it.

The color is an oh-so-trendy shade of icy grey. The fabric choice is an amazingly tactile combination of jersey top and woven skirt, both in 100% cotton. The silhouette? Crazy. Snug where it needs to be to show off a woman's curves, but gathered and bubbly in a way that makes it incredibly artistic-- like a Christo installation turned into fashion. If I had an extra $429 hanging around, begging to be spent on something fun and fashionable, this would be my first pick.

Here's the thing. My complete adoration of Cameron Diaz's spunky style totally crept up on me. One day I was simply regarding her as a sweet, fun comic actress, and the next I realized that I was idolizing her for her amazing style and gift for wearing the "just right" thing all the time. First it was one great outfit. Then another. Now it seems like Cam can do no wrong in the fashion department. Love her.
