I think I've sufficiently explained my bizarre dress buying behavior plenty of times, but for any of you who may be new to Stiletto Jungle... let's just say that when it comes to dresses, I have things a bit backwards. Some girls get invited to a hot event and spend all day searching for the perfect dress. I find fabulous dresses and then spend ages trying to find the perfect event to wear them to. I'm a prime example of a girl who lets fashion rule her life. C'est la vie.

The usual suspects in my dress-buying conspiracy: Milly, Vince, Rachel Pally... and Tibi. I'm particularly fond of Tibi's 100% silk retro-print dresses. They are like wearable art, and the fit is always to die for. Sale priced Tibi calls to me like a siren. I have a really horrible dress buying habit. Most women plan to attend a fabulous event and then scramble to find a dress. Not me. I have this habit of snapping up fabulous dresses and then scrambling to find an event that will allow me to wear them. It's totally backwards, I know.

The latest object of my desire is this new Toffee Phoenician Dress from glammy label Tibi. This 100% silk twill one-shoulder maxi dress is retro glam at its best. It's a modern take on a classic '70s aesthetic with its swirling vine pattern and single flutter sleeve. I'd pair this with simple flat sandals for a summer garden party or strappy platform sandals and a vintage gold party purse for a night out in the City. Now I just need to find an event that will justify purchasing yet another not-so-work-appropriate dress. I'm open to ideas.

Funny thing about watching re-runs: you always see things the third time around that you missed the first two. Since Gossip Girl-- my favorite televised fashion indulgence since Sex and the City-- is in repeat land until April 21, I'm on my third watching of most episodes.
