When Nina Garcia named Frye boots to her list of must-have fashion items in her new book The One Hundred, I was a little reluctant to give in to her judgement. But, the more I explored what Frye had to offer I realized that the Frye label really does create boots that have a look unlike any other line. They are rugged, but in a way that reads more runway than rodeo. Which is, admittedly, a little odd given Frye's legacy as the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the U.S. and maker of shoes for Civil War soldiers. Regardless. The Nina has spoken, and turns out she was right. I'm now obsessed with snagging the perfect pair of Frye boots.
Frye "Mildred Engineer" Boot
$199.99 (was $298-- save 33%!)
Available at: overstock.com
I just ran across this pair of sale priced Frye "Mildred Engineer" Boots and I think they are pretty fab. They might be my missing Frye find. A bit more ladylike than the standard Frye buckle boot, the "Mildred Engineer" would look super hot pulled on over skinny jeans this fall. It's available in Black, pictured here, as well as Sapphire, Cognac, and Grey. All four colors are currently on sale for 33% off retail price. Bizarrely, the black boots are listed separately from the color boots; click each link separately to view.
