Stripes aren’t just on the American flag, but all over the fashion scene as well. With all different colors and dress styles, stripes are always sure to make you look taller and thinner if vertical, or give a curvier when wearing horizontal. With great summer styles that incorporate the striped pattern, there isn’t a striped dress that I don’t like.

Keep your body type in mind when purchasing striped dresses-- if you are short and have a thicker build you may want to stay away from light colored horizontal striped dresses. But, on the other hand, if you need the extra illusion of weight to give you a more curvaceous body, horizontal stripes may be your answer. I have found a striped dress to flatter every body type. Embrace the stripes; it’s simplicity at its best!

I decided that I need to shop for new sandals after seeing my torn, dirty ones. It’s always a justifiable purchase when you know your going to wear them till the soles are coming apart. Sandals keep your toes from suffocating in the summer, but comfort is what makes sandals ultra enticing. I typically prefer leather sandals, because they wear better and they soften over time. There are many different types of sandals to choose from, so I have picked a classy goddess-like pair, a casual pair and beachy ones.

Sandals aren’t just for the rugged young chicks with cut-off denim shorts anymore. Now they are for all types of women from all walks of life. Designers have gotten creative and spiced it up. They have turned a casual comfortable look to a fun and elegant one. Although there are still $5 flip flops that are wonderful to have around, now there are more options for those who choose.

This entry is Part 2 of a multi-part review of Reebok's new EasyTone sneakers. Read Part 1 to learn more about the science behind EasyTone and my initial reactions to this new sneaker.

I’ve been wearing Reebok EasyTone sneakers for the past couple of weeks now-- mainly on my weekend walks around the neighborhood and when I run errands, such as trips to the grocery store or Target. While I initially felt that my legs were a little more tired after walking in EasyTone sneakers than normal athletic sneakers, I can now confirm that the feeling intensified with more wear. There is definitely something going on with these new Reeboks!

With regular use I have noticed that my legs, particularly my upper legs, get much more tired when walking in EasyTone sneakers. Not crazy, muscle-ache inducing tired, but clearly more of a “worn out” feeling than had I worn regular sneakers on my walk. I also noticed that it takes a little more effort to work up a steady pace while walking in EasyTone sneakers—my normal quick gait takes a little more out of me. I like it. I feel like I’m getting more done.

While I blame my tendencies toward horrible posture, not the shoe, I do notice that I tend to hunch forward a bit more after I’ve been walking for a while in my EasyTone sneakers. I feel like I hunch forward due to the fact that I’m working a bit harder with every step, kind of like a work horse hunching down to pull a load. But, when I caught myself and started to practice my super Pilates posture while walking, I could really feel my thigh and butt muscles engaged. I’ve decided that a conscientious application of my Pilates posture might yield even better results, so I’m determined to do just that from now on.

So far, each outing in my Reebok EasyTone sneakers has felt like it was giving my legs a little extra workout. I’m excited to see what I’ll be able to accomplish in the remaining couple of weeks in my Reebok EasyTone challenge. Stay tuned to find out how I do!

Spring Beauty: Skin Savers

I just got back from the golf course on one of the hottest days of Spring, and I fried my skin badly. It’s pathetic and embarrassing because usually I’m such an advocate of sunscreen. So, this inspired me to write about how to prevent skin damage, and heal and maintain healthy skin! Enjoy.

It is important to remember that what we put in our mouth also affects our skin. I have seen first hand the benefits of drinking Aloe Vera juice. The convenient thing is all you need to drink is 2-3 ounces of it every day to see an enormous difference. It helps with energy levels, digestion and skin improvements. Although there are Aloe Vera products that specifically help aid the skin, it is nice to help your body as a whole.

Dazzle everyone with beautiful eyes, or show off your lips with some fun and bright pucker-friendly lipstick colors. With the right ingredients all this possible! Creating long marvelous lashes and stunning mysterious eyes is the spring look. Fashionistas everywhere are wearing bright pink lipstick with mascara, or they’re pepping up cat eyes with lightly glossed lips.

Unfortunately, like most things in life, you can’t have it all, because it will consume you. It’s great to have the option of being able to create both looks, depending on the mood. And the last thing you want to do is go to a department store and end up buying a bunch makeup that that you may not use… it’s like going to the grocery store hungry.

When it comes time to glam up my eyes, I always start by penciling in my eyebrows to sharpen and emphasize my arch. After I apply my L’Oreal eye shadow, I love accentuating my lashes with L'Oreal Voluminous Original Volume Building Mascara in Blackest Black. It’s amazing mascara-- it transforms delicate lashes into bold diva-like lashes. I like the Blackest Black because it gives lashes a fuller look; the Carbon color is also nice, but softer. If you want to liven up the eyes a bit more, try some green or blue eyeliner--shaking things up away from the typical black. Versace and Prestige both have great ones!

Moving on to the lips, I always line my lips to make the lipstick last longer and give my lips a larger appearance! I’m a big advocate of M.A.C lip liners and lipsticks because they always last longer and they have s a great color selection. M.A.C. Plum Royale Cremestick Lip Liner is pink and luscious! This liner can also act as a lipstick-- just fill your lips in with the easy retractable moist liner, and be amazed by its longevity.

I never thought I’d reveal my ultimate favorite lipstick, but, once again I have managed to surprise myself. I want to fill you guys in on my secret-- Pink Nouveau lipstick by M.A.C. Trench coats are absolutely style altering, in an amazing direction. Although spring trench coats are lighter in fabric, they are also much bolder in color-- with an exuberant amount of classic femininity. Watching Audrey Hepburn exude such class wearing her trench coat in Breakfast at Tiffany’s makes me want to purchase one trench coat after another.

I love that you can wear a trench with some sexy heels and next to nothing underneath-- as long as you don’t take it off! It’s nice to be able to wear a trench as a dress, and look 100% put together! This season, its all about vivid fun colors that will get you noticed and brighten your day. Get your spring trench coats light material, and wear them for years to come. It wasn’t difficult to find great trench coats, but it was hard to narrow down my selection to three purchase-worthy trench coats.

I found a great yellow trench at Nordstrom by Tahari. The color is light yellow-- very feminine and not eye-staining. The Tahari 'Keri' Trench Coat has a pleated collar and it’s water resistant for those of you ladies who still need to worry about that in the spring. The cinched waist with a tie belt gives it its shape, and the pleated cuffs give it some flare.

Next up: a trench by Laundry that is a very modern and sophisticated! The Laundry by Shelli Segal Oxford Double Breasted Trenchcoat is stunning, especially because it’s black with white trim. The color and trim give it an edgy, high priced look. The length is very flattering and not too long at above the knees. The thick tie belt accentuates the waist even more than the usual trench. The wide belt loops into a buckle, giving it a more polished finish. The pearlized buttons are a minor detail that contributes to the gorgeous look. I adore everything about this trench, the color, the style, and the cut! It’s a winner!

How can one not find a jacket at Banana Republic? It’s nearly impossible-- they always have trench coats and other impressive wearable jackets. Speaking of which, their BR Monogram Double-Breasted Shiny Trench is very fun! The whitish-silver trench has a metallic sheen, perfect for a night out in town or happy hour. The color matches almost everything and gives the typical classic trench coat a wild side.
