How To Get Flirty Eyes Part 1: Liner and Mascara

I am a big believer in speaking with my eyes. It is crucial to play up eyes as if they were their own person. It’s the first thing people should look at and tells a lot about a person.

First, it is wise to remember that if you are going all-out with the eyes not to go extreme with the lip color. It's sort of like not wearing a plunge v-neck and a mini skirt to go along. Now, if you are Katy Perry it may work, but looking at her sex kitten reputation it may not be working for her either. Don’t get me wrong, I love nothing more than red luscious lips, but I usually grab the red when I don’t have time to play up my eyes and need a quick rejuvenated look.

The right products to play up the eyes make a world of a difference. I always admired one of my mother’s friend’s eyeliner growing up. She always seems so well put together and her eyes are never smeared, instead they are perfectly fresh but bold looking. She swears by Bobbi Brown's award winning Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner. She’s not the only one that swears by the gel eyeliner -- it has excellent reviews and has stolen the hearts of many. It’s perfect for people who have oily skin and can’t seem to keep any liner on without it smearing on the lower lid.

All you need is an ultra fine liner brush and you’ve got the right equipment. The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner comes in 14 colors to keep you stimulated and coming back for more. You can be dramatic and choose a bright color, wear a bold black without eye shadow or even blend it with a dark charcoal. Whatever you choose to do you, you wont have to worry about it looking like you just woke up.

Along with great eyeliner, it is necessary to complete the look with marvelous mascara. I always look for thickening mascara because I don’t lack length, but I lack width. Personally, I wear two different mascaras that give my eyes a more mesmerizing, dramatic gaze.

For some ladies, wearing two mascaras could be overkill. I will start by addressing the ladies who like a simple, clean look that doesn’t look too bold but accentuates the eyes a bit. If you have blue or green eyes the CoverGirl Professional All In One Curved Mascara in Brown may be your golden ticket to a fresh, non-clumpy look. Brown is always a great everyday wear mascara. The curved brush will give your eyelashes some flirty movement.

For gals who like to play up their eyes on daily basis with a dramatic look try Buxom's Buxom Lash mascara. I love the shape of the wand because it thickens the lashes from the root to the tip giving awesome results. I have done 3 layers with this particular mascara and it never looks clumpy or overdone. It definitely does what it promises by giving lashes a longer, fuller appearance.
