3 Sophisticated Shorts That Go Beyond Casual

Although designers offer many types of shorts for our weekend attire, we must exercise good judgment when deciding which shorts to wear because we do not want to look too exposed. When I wear shorts, I make sure they give off a free spirited, loose, bohemian vibe so no one confuses me for someone who would appear on stage with the Pussycat Dolls. Wearing shorts gives off an easygoing look that should look comfortable, but not suffocating.

My first feature is a yellow flowy BCBGeneration short. The elastic waist provides a comfortable fit and it will prevent you from suffocating during your all day outings. Whether you wear this pair with flip-flops or a pair of wedges, you won’t feel exposed. This is a great pair to wear out because of its versatile style and its casual fit.

This next pair is absolutely gorgeous! I bought a similar yellow pair years ago from the Marciano store in Vegas and people still give me compliments when I wear them during the spring and summer seasons. Because they are made of silk, you should not wear them if you plan on sitting outside in the sun all day. However, they are lovely for a fancy get together during the summer. Pair it with a nice top and even wear this silk pair with a skinny stiletto.

Everyone should have a sophisticated pair of white shorts in their closet. Since white can be a tough color to wear, it is important to pick a classic style instead of a funkier style. The trendy style usually requires a certain body type. I just discovered this Theory pair that appears simple at first glance, but with a little work, this pair can become versatile. You can style it up or down depending on how you want to accessorize. Pair it with a brown belt and turquoise jewelry or keep it simple with a t-shirt.
