What happens when the top names in pricey pumps turn their talents to flats? Magic.
If you are a fan of flats, or just stuck with heel-less shoes for health reasons, this is your season. The super chic designer offerings have never been better. This past weekend I really took the time to evaluate the high-end flats options at two of my favorite stores for designer shopping: Nordstrom and Saks. I think I’ve successfully uncovered a selection that will make you forget all about your pumps (at least for a bit). Plus, every one of these shoes comes with free shipping…
No longer must you teeter around on pencil-thin heels to take part in the fashion blogger’s favorite shoe. Valentino’s Rockstud is now available in a sleek ballet flat. Much like the heeled version, the flat Rockstud comes in a range of colors, but I find this simple silver on black version the most appealing.

A good pair of navy shoes is hard to find. These Jimmy Choo flats really are the perfect shade of navy, made more interesting with a patent finish.
→ Buy the Jimmy Choo Alina Pointy Toe Flat, $550.00, at nordstrom.com.
I don’t think I ever considered the possibility of a slingback flat. I mean, I guess I knew they existed, but I never really thought of them as their own shoe food group. But, these shimmery slingbacks have me reconsidering my position. How could a self-respecting shoe lover not absolutely need a pair of metallic slingback flats?

Admittedly, half the fun of wearing a pair of Louboutins is showing off the signature red sole. While the sole isn’t as immediately visible with these flats, the rest of the shoe practically screams “Loubie,” more than making up for the fact that the sole isn’t on display.
→ Buy the Christian Louboutin Degraspike Flat, $895.00, at nordstrom.com.
These Prada flats are the perfect mix of a classic shoe shape and spring’s sporty trend. This is the take on the sporty look you can actually wear to the office, available in both black and white.
→ Buy the Prada Perforated Leather Point-Toe Flats, $690.00, at saks.com.
In my opinion, there aren’t nearly enough tortoise-print shoes. This ultra-classic pattern livens up a dark brown shoe while maintaining a look that is fully appropriate for a business-formal office.
→ Buy the Manolo Blahnik BB Tortoise-Print Patent Leather Flats, $645.00, at saks.com.
No one does downtown-chic like Saint Laurent. Picture these tough girl studded flats with skinny leather pants and a slouchy white tee. Perfection.
→ Buy the Saint Laurent Paris Ballerine Studded Pointy Toe Flat, $995.00, at nordstrom.com.
