Carnivale of Couture- Summer to Fall

Sunday, August 20, 2006

One of my favorite fashion bloggers, Coquette, is hosting this week's Carnivale of Couture question. The question:

As we look ahead to Fall season next month, what is one item of clothing you will miss in your Summer wardrobe and what is one item you are coveting for Fall?

MIA - Women's Gwen

Wow, that's a tough one. I recently relocated from sunny San Diego to the Bay Area, so I have yet to experience a winter where I actually must give up a portion of my wardrobe. I know I'm not likely to get a lot of sympathy for that comment, but I have to be honest. So, in anticipation of a wet Bay Area winter I am sad about giving up my favorite Mia "Gwen" platform wedge espadrilles (right). In San Diego you can, and are practically expected to, wear open toed shoes year-round. I'll miss that. I love that these shoes are not only trendy and fun, but are also super comfortable. I have the white ones (shown), but they also come in natural and metallic gold. I swear I could practically run a marathon in these shoes.

Robert Rodriguez Mohair Blend Sweater
$319.00

One of the good things about moving to a place that actually experiences seasons is that I get to wear real winter clothes without feeling like an outcast! Wearing a warm, snuggly sweater in San Diego is practically unheard of, so I'm excited to finally invest in a fabulously plush sweater. I have my eye on this Crop Mohair Blend Sweater by Robert Rodriguez (left). It is available in both heather grey (shown) and black-- perfect colors for fall-- and has a fun shape that will be great for layering.

Click on either photo to link directly to where you can purchase that item online. The "Gwen" espadrille by Mia is available in all three colors and a wide range of sizes, at full price, by clicking on the photo. A limited range of sizes and colors are still available for only $29.70 via Overstock.com-- see my previous post about these great shoes for details!
