I'm such a sucker for a new beauty product. I'll try just about anything once and the more hyped the product, the more I want to give it a test drive. If the product is a waste of time, I want to know so that I can warn the masses (or at least as many members of "the masses" as I can reach). If it's everything it promises to be and then some, I want to be the first on the block to know for sure that it's worth the effort.

So, as you can imagine, when the makers of Rejuvawand offered to let me give their much hyped "alternative to Botox" a try in exchange for sharing my experience with all of you, I jumped on the chance. I'm giving them 6 weeks to show me what they can do.

So, armed with my trusty Rejuvawand and the accompanying RejuvaGel, as well as the 3-Piece Rejuva skincare system, I've set out to see what this baby can do. Admittedly, I'm not "of the age" that wrinkles are a serious problem. But, I do have creases slowing forming all over my face, particularly in my nasolabial folds-- aka, smile lines. I think it's time to nip these suckers in the bud. With recent reports of starlets as young as 23 indulging in preventive Botox treatments, I feel like a beauty maintenance slacker. If Rejuvawand delivers on its promises, I may never get to the place where I need injectible therapy.

Here are the basics: Rejuvawand is billed as an alternative to Botox, laser, IPL, microdermabrasion and cosmetic procedures. It is a portable wand device that emits both red light and infrared light, which helps fight wrinkles and aging by promoting and stimulating the skin's own rejuvenation process. You are supposed to use it for 4 minutes every day for at least 4-6 weeks to see results. You can get a more in-depth explanation on the Rejuvawand website.

I'm technically only a few days into my treatment, so I haven't seen any real results yet. I can tell you that the device is pretty simple to understand and easy to use. It automatically shuts off at the end of a single 4 minute cycle, which is great for absentminded people like me. I also adore the RejuvaCleanse facial cleanser. It's frothy and fresh smelling and leaves my skin super clean, but moist and soft. It's definitely a keeper.
