Girl Talk: Much Love For MAC

Every week the Stiletto Jungle Girl Talk panel gives the straight story on their favorite beauty products. We cover it all: from conditioner to foot scrub, lip gloss to mascara, and everything in between. We've easily name dropped a hundred different beauty labels... or more. With so much beautiful water under the bridge, it was time to ask the big question. Of all the beauty labels you use, what's your number one favorite?

Given the range of beauty brands the Girl Talk ladies have dished about, I was expecting a different fave label from each of the girls. Boy was I wrong! Seems that when it gets right down to it, only one label stands head and shoulders above the rest.

"I looked into my makeup drawer and realized that the most of one particular brand I have is MAC," explains Po, a 28-year-old attorney from Ceres, California. "I love their lipsticks, blush, and Belightful powder. What I like about MAC is that their products seem to be very long-lasting and true to their colors. They are not too light and do not require too much application to give the color that I expect. The rest of the products in my drawer are just a variety of many other brands."

"The only type of makeup I use is MAC," adds Tina, a 34-year-old from San Diego, California. "I love everything they put out... I love the eyeshadow colors, they are great for mixing and matching. I can be mellow and sedate or party girl in a flash. I love their Studio Fix powder, it isn't heavy and does a good job of evening out my skin color. I also love their Lipglass and Lustreglass, my new favorite shade is Beaux! For eyeshadow I wear Orb, Quarry, Vapor and line my eyes with Mystery. It is a great look for work. I have makeup on and look like a lawyer. I have tried other brands-- Clinique, Sephora, drug store brands, and a long line of others-- but MAC is always the one I go back to. I can't complain when the color lasts and I feel like I am not wearing a ton of make up."

"My favorite make-up brand is [also] MAC. I love how everlasting their products are," explains 23-year-old Kim. "My lipstick from them never comes off, even when I eat. Their products have a lot of pigment in them, making the color stay bright and long lasting. I love their Silver Dust shimmer which I put all over my body, and their eye shadows as well.

The reason they are my favorite brand in those categories is because, on top of lasting a long time, they have so many color options that it gives me the ability to be creative with my makeup routine. For example, sometimes I use the silver dust over my funky eyeshadows, or I just use it as an eyeshadow. The eyeshadows also allow me to mix different colors to create a different look. With such extensive color options, MAC carries colors other brands do not even make. I must say I know MAC may not be for everyone, but it works for a dynamic kind of girl like me! I love being able to play with my looks and MAC not only allows that, but encourages it!"

Looks like MAC is the clear winner with the Girl Talk panel. Maybe it's time I give it a try?
