Victoria Beckham is not the only one who loves chic sunglasses... so do I. Let’s just say sunglasses have helped me hide sunken eyes after a night of crying, a night of too much fun with friends or a simple lack of sleep. But, besides the mask they provide, there are actual benefits and reasoning behind the thriving industry. Aside from using creams and sunscreen, sunglasses actually protect the eyes and the delicate skin surrounding them from damaging UV rays. Audrey Hepburn knew there would be no breakfast at Tiffany’s without a sassy pair of shades. How could you pass up on purchasing something that keeps you from aging and keeps you looking hot while you’re in semi-disguise?

There are many different shapes and sizes when it comes to sunglasses. My advice for choosing a pair is to first determine your face shape and then choose a pair that compliments it. Keep sunglass color and size in mind because typically if the glasses overwhelm your face, you may want to pass. Are you listening Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen? Sunglass styles come and go frequently, so don’t be afraid to retire your old pairs. Give different flattering shapes a chance.

This first pair of stunners will get stolen if you leave them behind, trust me! Dior’s simple yet elegant Oversized Square Sunglasses are a new edition to the evolving world of fashionable sunglasses. These larger shape glasses distinguish themselves with mother of pearl insets on the temple. I really like these because they are great for any type of chica, whether your style is fancy or simplistic.

Paul Frank is to some what Hello Kitty is to others. Grown-ups can appreciate the fun in made up characters and this pair of shades is proof of that. These Paul Frank Pleasantly Pixilated sunglasses come in two funky color combinations that differentiate themselves from all others. I love the old school shape with the metal design in the front. Kudos to Paul Frank-- even Kitty would sport these shades.

If Paul Frank isn’t your thing, then try a pair of flashy Versaces. Rimless and diva-like, this pair of Versace Shield Sunglasses scream J. Lo! These silver frame glasses with brown gradient lenses will protect and show off the sparkle in your eyes. If bling is your thing, you’ll love the logo and crystals on the sides. Versace knows how to make you feel bejeweled and princess-like, that’s for sure.

Looking for a cross between the old school and modern look? Then check out Marc by Marc Jacobs Button Aviator glasses. If you’re picky with your earth tones, these specs are offered in three different brown shades. I love aviators. They rarely go out of style, especially this particular pair. The unique button logo on the temple adds an element of glam without the princess ego.
