When summer comes around, it’s the best time of year to flash some flesh and really let the fashionista in you thrive! This ethos cannot be forgotten just because you’re on the beach; in fact, it’s perhaps even more poignant.

Beach Bags
The first thing you need to think about on your first trip to the shores this summer is your beach bag. Luckily beach bag styles rarely differ from season to season and if you invest in a good quality item it could last you two or three seasons. The nautical stripes are always a win on the beach bag front and coupled with a straw or raffia texture you can’t go wrong. Why not style up your casual bag with leather accents to make it a mix of fashion and function.

Swim Wear
On the other hand swim wear does change each summer season and this year it’s all about the coral palette as it is within all areas of fashion. The style we are seeing more of though, is the fifties balconette style top. The good news about this is whether you prefer a swimsuit or bikini the balconette style can be incorporated into both and can be and is easy to wear especially for girls with curves as is any style reminiscent of  the fifties glamour scene.

Cover ups
Cover ups are great for the beach. They can be used for those ladies who may be a little beach shy or for anyone who gets a little chilly when the sun goes in. Keep you cover up as light as possible, the flowy look is great for summer so go for something made of muslin or silk. This way there’s more room in your beach bag for magazines! Floral prints are always the way to go with cover ups as they add a tropical edge to any summer look.

Beach hat
The sun and sea can really take it out of your hair so to keep the perfect locks make sure you cover them up. Oversized beach hats are loads of fun and can show off a really stylish side to your new beach look. If you think a hat might get too heavy or they’re just not your thing, go for a fashion head scarf instead, they do the same job but can be a lot lighter and hassle free.

Sunglasses
A good pair of sunglasses can last a life time. Go to a real sunglasses store and get advice from the sales people there. You need to find a style that really suits your face shape and skin colouring. If you want to switch it up why not buy a couple of secondary pieces from fashion stores too.
