From Pre-Fall to Fall 2012 runway shows, metallic splash trend is very evident. It´s a great way to incorporate a hint of glitter into an otherwise low key look and to quickly revamp the pieces which get old in your wardrobe.

The key in wearing metallic pieces is by making it the center of the look while keeping the rest on your outfit a complement. It´s also wise to tone down the glitter by playing with colors. Stop your desire to go matchy. Being too glittery is over-the-top and is a turn off.

Here are three ways to help you wear the metallic trend like a pro.

1. Wear a Metallic Jacket

We´re used to seeing fashionistas wearing a black metallic jacket with a little black dress or black high-waist shorts. Recently however, I´ve been so inspired with couture designer Gustavo Lin´s take on the trend. He added a gold metallic jacket on a neon wrapped dress finished with gold pumps. The look is so adorable that I wanted to re-create it.

You´ll see that the neon green dress does some toning on the glitter.
But if you feel like gold shoes is too much to brave, nude heels are perfect alternative.

2. Wear Metallic Shorts

Both sophisticated and trendy is a pair of metallic shorts that are styled up with chic black boyfriend blazer over a black top, statement black pumps and an equally eye-catching clutch. Give your top a slight tuck in front to make your shorts more visible, adding length to your legs.

3. Wear Metallic Shoes

Perhaps the most effortless way to wear the metallic trend is by going for a pair of really striking metallic shoes. There are a variety of colors for you to choose from - black, gray, white, nude, or gold.

Depending on the color and type of your shoes, you can create casual or formal outfits. I wanted to dress up these gorgeous gold metallic pumps so I paired it with a cross back purple dress and added a nude clutch bag.

If you want to go sporty, why not grab yourself a pair of metallic wedge
and pull them off with attitude? Really, when it comes to metallic trend, your options in styling is endless.

Are you a fan of this trend? How do you add some metallic splash to a look?
