Clutches for Fall: 5 Bags Perfect for Layering

As kids return to school and the afternoon traffic increases, our fashionable attire begins to transition into warmer clothing (although the oddly muggy San Diego weather has delayed the transition so far). Soon layered clothing will return. However, I recommend you avoid wearing layered clothing with oversized bags, even though it seems like the natural, right thing to do.

With baggy clothes and layers, it seems logical to grab a bigger bag to stash your shawl or cardigan. But, your oversized bag and layered clothing can make you look frumpy. On the other hand, clutches will hold your oversized attire and keep your outfit pulled together.

Try some deep, dark colors to contrast well with fall outfits. Metallic colors are always fun so try this Tory Burch chain clutch. It’s versatile and nice. It’s not the most unique bag but the two color options make this a great, classic option.

If you want a variation of the metallic bag with a little retro and futuristic look, then try this eye catching and spacious panel bag.

Pour la Victoire Metallic Paneled Clutch

If you can wrap your mind around the concept of a unique but trendy clutch, then you must check out this fabulous Alexander McQueen clutch. You are not going to want to put this bag down, which is its biggest downfall. The folded corners exude edginess, especially for its fine detail, but it make the bag all the more grab-worthy.

How many times have I said I like the yellow family? Well, I will it say I again. I’m obsessed with nearly all shades of yellow, so it should not surprise anyone to discover that I love this Diane Von Furstenberg clutch. This bag is gaining even more respect from me as it is from the self-proclaimed inventor of the “wrap dress.” When in doubt go yellow.

Diane von Furstenberg Harper Envelope Clutch

Another hit by Diane, now that I should be on first basis with her. I present a clutch-diva bag that exudes sexiness. Python, red, and black -- I can’t begin to tell you how excited this bag makes me. I just want to stare at it. Make any black cocktail dress lose itself to this bag -- hands down, blackjack.
