Women are getting more adventurous with their hair color and straying away from basic all over color and simple highlights. There are tons of new techniques that are being used to create fun, feisty styles and improved temporary products make it easy to change up your hair color and change it back in a snap. Here are some of the hottest hair color trends out there:

Ombre Hair Color

Ombre

It seems like ombre hair has been in style for quite some time now but it won't be going out of style any time soon. Now that at-home ombre kits have gone on the market I am seeing more and more clients sporting this fun hair color. The great thing about this hair color is that it can be worn by women with any complexion and the two-tone effect gives you major versatility. It also keeps you from having to touch up your roots which is another major plus.

Peek a boo hair highlights

Peek-a-boo Highlights

Super fine and chunky highlights are starting to show up less and less as peek-a-boo highlights gain popularity. Peek-a-boo highlights also require very little maintenance and they are carefully placed throughout your hair to really bring out your features and frame your face. The whole concept of peek-a-boo highlights is that they peek out from under other sections of your hair. You can add in subtle shades or use bright colors to create a bold contrast.

Dip Dye Hair Color

Dip Dye

Dip dyed looks are super hot right now. The fabulous thing about this trend is that you can use temporary hair color or hair chalks to color the tips of your hair and then wash it out whenever you want. This trend looks great on girls with all different colors and lengths of hair. It has a fun and funky vibe and works really well with the pastel and super bright hair colors that are super popular right now. If you plan on going permanent with this trend make sure you keep ends trimmed and conditioned to prevent color from fading too quickly.

Color Block

Block Color

Block color adds tons of dimension to hair and it's great for creating an edgier look. This hair color technique is really about creating contrast. Since color is applied in blocks it looks very different every time you change your part so it's perfect for people who like playing around with different hairstyles. Since block color needs to be applied very carefully so that it doesn't bleed into the other sections your best bet is getting this done at a salon rather than trying this at home.

All of these hair color trends are fun and fashionable. Fortunately, there are many products on the market that makes achieving these trends very simple. However, if you have any doubt about applying your hair color make sure you go to a professional. Getting your hair done right the first time is way easier than repairing a botched hair color job.
