Marc by Marc Jacobs Handbags on Sale

Looking to score a great designer handbag deal in the New Year? Saks Fifth Avenue’s online outlet has just stocked 20 new Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags, each marked 40% off retail price. Plus, every one of the bags ships for free with code SHIP75.

The bags range from leather backpacks, to messenger bags, to more traditional shoulder bag shapes. I’m not much for the schoolgirl throwback looks, but the shoulder bags and satchels are very tempting. Check out my favorites here:

1. Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Tote Bag, $322.49 (was $538.00)
This oversized tote in a goes-with-everything rootbeer brown shade would make a great work bag. At 16”w x 15”h x 4”d, this bag will nicely fit file folders, full-size notepads, and perhaps even a smaller laptop or tablet. It comes with both a shoulder strap and top handles, for carrying ease.

2. Marc by Marc Jacobs Amee Leather Satchel, $268.49 (was $448.00)
A roomy satchel bag is always a useful addition to the handbag wardrobe, and this particular bag is deceptively large. Click through to see it with a model and you’ll understand. The shoulder strap is detachable, so you can treat it like an oversized ladylike top handle bag when the occasion calls for it. It’s available in this rich cardamom red or a more laid-back zinc grey shade.

3. Marc by Marc Jacobs Lauren Leather Shoulder Satchel, $298.49 (was $498.00)
For a more traditional handbag shape, try this Lauren bag. It comes in textured leather with protective metal feet. I’m partial to this pretty "greige" color, but it’s also available in a true pale grey shade.

4. Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Messenger Bag, $256.49 (was $428.00)
This peppy “soccer pit” green immediately caught my eye. It would be impossible to be in a bad mood carrying a bag in this happy of a color. If green isn’t your thing, don’t despair: it’s also available in three different shades of brown.

5. Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Tote, $284.99 (was 478.00)
I’ve started considering deep purple a neutral for the purposes of pairing with other solid colors. Really, what doesn’t it go with? I love a dark purple bag with a dove grey and black ensemble. It looks chic, and well put together. This tote is also available in green and two different shades of brown.
