Gift Ideas for the Frequent Traveler

Do you have a frequent traveler on your to-gift list this season? If so, look no further.

After pulling ideas from years of my own adventures, and quizzing my travel-obsessed squad about their own go-to items, I’ve assembled eleven fabulous and fashionable gifts that are sure to wow any frequent traveler. Happy gifting!

1. The Laundress Travel Pack, $52.00
This convenient kit from upscale clothing care company The Laundress has everything a woman on the go needs to take care of her wardrobe while traveling. The set includes Crease Release and Fabric Fresh sprays, Delicate Wash, Stain Solution, and a reusable laundry bag for stashing dirty clothes.

2. Flight 001 4-in-1 Universal Travel Adapter, $25.00
This is, by far, the most user friendly travel adapter I’ve found. The easy to understand color coding allows you to seamlessly adapt your compatible electronics to the appropriate plug in over 150 countries, and the interlocking square shape packs like a dream.

3. Longchamp Le Pliage Travel Bag, $215.00
This bag is the ultimate combination of luxury and utility, making it the ideal on-board bag for discerning travelers. The roomy nylon bag meets most international and domestic under seat carry-on size requirements, including British Airways’ notoriously small limits, and is super organized with multiple interior and exterior pockets. It’s water-resistant, includes and removable shoulder strap, and folds flat for storage. Plus, it has that chic Longchamp look, available in black, red, and beige.

4. Kindle 6” Touchscreen, $79.99
Multi-function tablets and high end e-readers are great, but when you are schlepping heavy bags through several time zones every ounce counts. This basic Kindle is a super lightweight way to take a whole library on the road.

5. Sofia Cashmere Emilia Travel Set, $395.00
For the posh traveler, nothing beats layers of luxe cashmere in a compact 8” x 10” zippered bag.

6. Club Monaco Svetlana Cashmere Boucle Wrap, $595.00
I purchased a version of this sweater for travel several years ago, and it remains my go-to travel sweater. It’s cozy without being bulky, making it a smart air travel companion year round. And, unlike most similar sweaters, it has conventional rather than batwing-style armholes. This seemingly minor detail means you can comfortably pull on a coat when landing in cold climates.

7. Malin + Goetz Essential Kit, $30.00
This simple sampler contains just enough face cleanser, face moisturizer, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner to last several days. The best-selling formulas are upscale, without being too fussy, and appeal to both men and women. It’s the perfect backup for when you are unsure of the quality of the hotel toiletries.

8. Flight 001 F1 Seat Pack, $28.00
This is one of those travel accessories that even the most seasoned explorer won’t realize they’ve been yearning for until they see it. It keeps your on-board necessities – phone, boarding documents, pen for customs forms, lip balm, credit card, etc. – organized and hangs from the tray latch by a little loop. It’s brilliant.

9. Old Fashioned Carry-On Cocktail Kit, $24.00
For the world traveler who has everything… a posh kit that turns on-board drinks into a custom cocktail. So much fun.

10. Brookstone Ionic Dual-Voltage Travel Hair Dryer, $44.99
Heat styling tools are the hardest items to use when traveling internationally. It’s all but impossible to get a full-sized US hair dryer to work well with a converter, not to mention the fact that converters are heavy and a pain to pack. Travel hair dryers are generally weak, yet still manage to fry your hair. This is the answer: full-size power, smoothing ionic functionality, and dual-voltage in a small size that folds up for easy packing. Snap on a basic adapter for effortless use overseas.

11. Flight 001 F1 Spacepack for Clothes, Undergarments, & Toiletries, $42.00 - $46.00
These pretty little miracle workers will make three weeks’ worth of fashion fit into a carry-on sized suitcase. The double-sided packs for clothes and undergarments – one side for clean, the other for dirty – feature a one-way valve that allows you to collapse piles of garments into a compact space. The toiletry pack has enough room for full-size bottles, plus enough zips and pouches to keep lots of little items organized, yet folds up to a compact, easy-to-pack rectangle. These are must-haves for any frequent traveler.
