Madewell Pants - Massimo Dutti Dress - Aella Pants - Barneys New York Shoes - Zara Shirt

Over the past few weeks I’ve slowly collected some great workwear finds. I finally reached critical mass for a post, so it’s time to share.

I didn’t plan it this way, but all of my picks are black and white. I can’t help it. I love black and white for the office. That doesn’t mean that these picks are boring, though. I found really interesting shapes, textures, and cuts, all at affordable prices.

Check out all of my shopping picks this week…

1. Madewell Stockton Culotte Pants, $79.99 (was $108.00)
Swingy, wide-leg cropped pants have become a modern office staple, along the lines of the ubiquitous black trouser. Can you really ever have too many pair? This not-too-precious Madwell version is priced right and has a flattering higher waist.

2. Massimo Dutti Striped 100% Silk Dress, $140.00
This menswear-inspired silk shirtdress is perfect for summer at the office. Paired with flat sandals it will also be right on point for vacation.

3. Aella Cigarette Pants, $190.00
I’ve been eyeing this new label for a few weeks. The company is built around machine-washable, locally-made, sustainable, affordable, comfortable business clothes. How perfect does that sound? These cigarette pants are made from the label’s signature “powder skin” fabric, a stretch twill that combines comfort with polish. I think I may have finally found a replacement for my favorite pair of stretch twill J.Crew trousers circa 2000.

4. Barneys New York Penny Loafers, $275.00

Pale grey patent penny loafers feel tailor made for summer. This Italian-made, suede-lined pair from the Barneys house label also feel like a particularly good deal.

5. Zara Long Full Shirt, $39.90
The slightly translucent fabric of this Zara shirt is not appropriate for all offices, but I think this shirt would look amazing with a black suit.
