Inspired by my recent trip to LA, I was surprised that I was fond of the funky buckle boot trend. I haven’t seen too much of this grunge-inspired trend in San Diego. Buckle boots can look grungy, which has been why I couldn’t relate to the buckle boot as a fashion must-have. But, I instantly loved this hip trend when I saw how it could be personalized to fit each individual's fashion style. I would have never thought I would appreciate this look, but sometimes all it takes is seeing the way other people are wearing it to appreciate it-- no wonder there are fashion shows!

The buckle boot isn't just for biker gals or models anymore. I searched for some affordable black buckle boots to ease myself into this trend slowly. Don’t get overwhelmed by the buckles, and let it get your creative juices flowing. Plus, with the cooler conditions, boots are always helpful. Diversify your boot collection because you can’t be wearing the same boots everyday-- keep it fresh and fun. Just in time for the holiday season, wrap your foot with lots of buckles and enough sass to kick some major butt without lifting your foot.

To avoid overwhelming you I’m going to start off with the "Gillem" ankle boots from Aldo. This boot only has one buckle, and will be a perfect start. This cognac-colored ankle boot with a round toe and a smaller, more comfortable heel has got a lot of style. From the nice cognac color, to the printed snakeskin strap around the side that gives it a luxurious flair, you can’t deny its charm. This boot also comes in black if you’ve given up on cognac.

Next up, I stuck with one buckle, but I went for a wilder pair with studs. These black studded Steve Madden Wrappp peep toe boots will look rockin' with a red pedicure and some enormous confidence. There are a few straps and many studs embellishing this one buckle boot. A bit more daring than the Aldo pair, I think this is more of a funky rocker-chic look.

Lastly, I found a two buckle boot at Macy’s. This Aerosoles Ride Line Boot is the boot equivalent of a classic black stiletto. It’s very versatile and would look great with skinny jeans and leggings. These riding boots are a more refined version of the traditional riding boot.
