In my last post, I discussed several techniques you can use to make your eyes appear more daring, but I did not mention eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara as key factors. In this article, I will explain how proper eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara can make your eyes appear more striking.

Since we are in fall, it is nice to take advantage of fall colors. Plum and grey colors highlight the arches and create a smoky eye affect. Since some of you ladies may desire a simpler color, I suggest the plum or green thick eyeliner I featured in part I of this post. For the more adventurous gals, try the darker colors that blend well with your brighter summer colors. Play around with different colors and blend them together to create a unique, personalized look. Most people have the proper brushes to help blend the colors, but if you don’t, then check out Sephora’s extensive selection.

I prefer palettes for eye colors because they fit comfortably in your luggage or in your purse. For this season, I love blended plum and dark gray colors. Urban Decay's Vice palette is nice because you can choose 20 different eye shadows and design your own color. There is one slightly plum color, but there are a few grey shades to choose from. If you like to keep it simple with browns and shimmery earth tones, then Smashbox has a suitable palette for you.

For the more experienced ladies who know how to play up their eyes, I recommend Make Up For Ever's incredibly sassy creamy shadow palette. This palette is great for the “go to” girl that has no time but needs to look her best at all times. The palette consists of black, red, ivory and green shades that are smudge proof and blend beautifully to create a perfect runway look. Keep in mind it comes with a double ended brush and the mirror compact to help you reapply when necessary.

Now that we have covered coloring, let us move on to my favorite black liquid eyeliner. I have tried expensive, popular, and all kinds of black liquid eyeliners but they never best my all-time favorite, Prestige eyeliner. It’s the best liquid eyeliner out there. It goes on smoothly and does not smudge at all. It is long lasting and never disappoints. If you want to explore plum and gray colors, go right ahead but I typically purchase the black and use it daily for maximum vavoom factor.

Finally, liven up your lashes with Diorshow, Diorshow Black Out, or Buxom Lash mascara. Diorshow and Diorshow Black Out will create thicker and more dramatic lashes whereas Buxom will create a less dramatic appearance because Buxom is more of a natural separator of lashes.

I prefer Diorshow and Diorshow Black Out. The main difference between DiorShow and Diorshow Black Out is the intensity of the black. Diorshow is lighter and less thickening then Black Out. If you want thicker, longer dramatic lashes that may appear slightly clumpy, then go for Diorshow Black Out and finish with a stroke of Buxom to separate the lashes.
